Hopefully the club goes for it if we are still around here for the break.
Looking at our pl schedule I don’t see why we can’t win all of our games before the break. A Chelsea game in there but all the other games we should be winning.
Leeds, Southampton, Forrest, Chelsea, wolves

This feels like a result that really ups the belief/morale. Robbie talked about it after saying this feels legit now, and I couldn't agree more. Thiago had moments where he was pulling some strings and midfield couldn't maintain possession, but they toughened up and found a way.
Feel Tomiyasu and Ben White won't be talked about enough, but I thought they both played great in some big moments. Favorite part is I watch how well they can control games and respond to adversity then get quickly reminded how young the team is. Plenty of room to get better and gel even more.
Top the table. We Move!

Ben White has definitely been great

I think this is a legitimate concern post -WC. Most of our starters will see heavy action (especially if England and Brazil make deep runs) while Haaland, Salah, etc. are home resting up. Fully expect to lose at least one starter in Qatar.

quote:which of our starters would that be? Marquinhos and Thiago Silva have been first choice for half a decade and they won’t be replaced by Gabriel who has never been capped before. Martinelli, as much as he deserves to be there, won’t get significant minutes over Neymar/Vinicius/Paqueta/Antony etc on the wings barring him being the best player in Europe this next month. Jesus should** be playing, but Tite has been favoring Richarlison up top whenever Brazil plays with a striker. So who knows.

Saka will probably be starting every game, as White should be, but southgate is a certified idiot and won’t call him up. Ramsdale won’t be starting every game (if any).
Saliba tbd? I admittedly don’t keep up with France like I used to (plus if recent trends are anything to go by, France will be out in the group stages)
Partey and Tomi will be out in the groups. Xhaka might make r16 then lose to Portugal?
I’m sure we’ll find a way to get screwed over, but with only 5ish players going it could definitely be worse for us.

Ben White played every minute of a 46 game championship winning Bielsa promotion season. That still amazes me. He’s so good.

Only issue I have with this week is a trip to Norway and then back home for another away game.
A bit of traveling, but these guys are professionals and are taking private jets.
Hoping for another two wins this week! #COYG

It's like a two hour flight. We aren't going to Baku.

Yeah I don’t think the flight itself is any issue, it’s not a long flight. The only thing I’m concerned about is the turf. Surprisingly although Bodø is in the arctic circle the weather shouldn’t be much if any worse than what it is in London today, at least according to the weather app on my phone lmao

We will prob rotate again I’m assuming minus Gabriel and Xhaka.
Holding, Cedric, and tierney prob all come in in d. Turner for Rambo, Sambi for partey, viera for odegaard, Marquinhos for saka, nketiah for Jesus. And Nelson or Martinelli.

Europa League is great to get our boys minutes that don't usually play. I love that aspect of it.
Jesus needs a rest and he is getting a well-deserved one.
Hoping to see Nelson get some minutes this game as well. He should have enough training under his belt at this point to give us some minutes in the Europa League.

Just me or has Vieira been completely invisible these opening 16 minutes? Lot of work down the right with White and Saka though. Lokonga has had a couple decent drives forward with the ball. We’ve looked comfortably in control apart from that one Bodo chance around the 3rd minute.

Sakaaaa we actually got pretty lucky with the bounce right there
Posted on 10/13/22 at 1:43 pm to RebelVol
Boring and a bit nervy at the end, but all goals were accomplished. No injuries, a win and minutes for our bench. Also, Turner had a day.

Ugly 3 points but I’ll take it. We definitely looked like a team coming off a big win, traveling to the Arctic Circle to play in cold, shitty weather and on artificial turf for the first time.

I agree. His distribution and comfort on the ball seemed to take a leap today from previous performances.

Top o' the league
Top o' the group

Boring and ugly win. Don’t even remotely care though.
Roma lost 6-1 at Bodo last year to put that into perspective. Tough place to play.
Matt Turner looked solid which was the best part of the entire game.
Top of the League!
Top of our Europa League Group!
Can’t complain! Onto Sunday!
