We don't, just not off of that really poorly officiated sequence. It was just before half time as well. Should have been the match, but class usually rises to the top. You wouldn't know anything about that.

I've seen plenty of class rise to the top. Gareth Bale and Luka Modric both rose to Real Madrid.

Just wondering if Arsene's presser including this question:
Uh, yeah, Arsene, you have who many consider the best No. 10 in the world on your team. Why the frick would you play him on the left wing?

So I'm assuming Giroud is out against Besiktas. I guess we will run with:
Shez
Debuchy-Chambers-Per-Monreal
Flamini-Wilshere
Ox-Ozil-Santi
Sanchez
Bench: Msritnez, Rosicky, Bellerin, Campbell, Kosc, Diaby?, ????
Assuming Sanogo hurt still.
Really wish we'd have Podolski available. We're so thin up top it's a joke.
Kosc may be in for Chambers if healthy.
How quickly depth fades.

I'm not saying he can't play on the left because if he and Santi are in I don't mind if they rotate a bit, but he was stuck out there and we need someone to provide a lil defense and we didn't buy ozil to play defense we bought him to create. We just seem to be lacking a lil fire rt now. Let's get to interlull and hope we come back ready to fight.
If giroud is serious we are in trouble. He really is our only decent option up front at the moment.

Any of you lads live in Houston? Looking for a good spot to watch some games Saturday morning.

yeah, I'm unimpressed by the timing of debuchy's runs more than anything. he can cross pretty well, those will come. needs to offer more in attack.
this 433 doesn't work. absolutely mad of Wenger to play özil out wide to accommodate jack. if he's going to do that, it kills the whole "we couldn't fit cesc into our XI" argument.
I thought Sanchez's movement up top was pretty great personally, but he didn't have a no. 10 to feed him and no real support in attack. thought for sure Jack was going to come off at HT to switch to a 4231. can't believe we're going to play him in 4 straight games in under 2 weeks to start the season.
we didn't really switch from the 433 with our late subs, but santi and özil a had much better connection than MÖ did with Jack. they interchanged positions far more.
Campbell didn't look out of place so that's nice.
per got beslered.
ox really needs to break through this year. frustrating game for him yesterday.

I haven't been there before but apparently Gallway Hooker on Washington Ave is supposed to be the best place to watch soccer in the town. I know they show all of the EPL games and the few times I've driven past it looks pretty nice.

Awesome thanks.
I totally agree about accommodating wilshere, if this is how we ate going to play then not buying fabregas was a mistake. Id rather him than wilshere. Its just asinine that Sanchez has to come back to our side to pick up the ball because we had no one to feed him. I will say jack and giroud had some nice combo play though. But I just get sick of these little back heel and flicks jack and Ramsey tried playing that never worked.

We never shoot. It pisses me off. Quit trying to tiki-taka your way through 8 men behind the ball in the box. We're not barca!

Barca played with far more width than we ever show. And when our fullbacks do push that high we get caught out.

Especially with Gibbs healthy both of our outside backs push up really far. With no solid, mobile DM to cover for our slow CBs, we can get wrecked on the counter.
I'm not really a fan of letting go of Lucas Podolski. He takes shots and makes things happen when he comes on. Maybe it's a wage issue but he provides solid depth, imo.

I think basically Campbell is replacing him on much cheaper wages. But I agree I only like the move if we're clearing up the wage bill to offer high wages to a big name

Like I said, champions spend.
If we let go of Podolski it better be to bring in a world class starter at ST or DM. Podolski's goal and assist rate is insane. Though he goes missing for huge chunks, he's a massive weapon for us and was a big part of our holding on to fourth last season. I would feel better if he were available Tuesday when we will need a goal.

I love Poldi. 110+ caps for Germany means better production than Campbell.
Posted on 8/25/14 at 6:51 am to glassman
i hate poldi's game, so i don't care
though i agree that i wouldn't get rid of him unless we're bringing another attacker in. he's the best finisher on our squad and brings something different.
