Also, I love that a certain other London club wasn't even up for consideration

Thanks for the welcome!

I was hesitant to post at all (shocking I know with my 300 posts), as I have little knowledge of the game and Arsenal and didn't want to embarrass myself. Looks like Ive found the safe house!

Glassman, will definitely check out Finn McCools. Unfortunately I'm on call this weekend but would love to catch a game there.

That's true, I didn't exactly give everyone a fair chance.

What a great story! Probably could've done without the multiple shots of his lower leg.

If this isn't too personal, what do you do? We have a few other healthcare people on here (making this assumption based on being on call). Unfortunately one is a spurs fan. Can't win them all, I guess.

New Arsenal fan here. Usually watch soccer during the WC but have never followed a team. Decided to pick an EPL team and since I've spent considerable time in London i decided to narrow it down to Chelsea or Arsenal. I read how Chelsea is considered the "Yankees" of soccer with some Russian billionaire owner so I picked Arsenal. Plus the logo is fantastic, the name is sweet and the Queen is a fan. Unfortunately the only player i recognize is Ozul but I look forward to following them and learning more throughout the year (starting with this sat). Anyways, cheers and go Arsenal!

Daily Mail reporting Athletico are confident in making a push for Santi.

LINK

Didn't he just sign a new contract? I can't see us parting with Santi, despite our midfield depth.

A large part of our midfield depth is santi, bc he can play so many positions. When you consider Ozil and poldi won't be fully available until late august, after the CS/ two EPL games/ CL qualifying, there's no way we let him go unless we sign another top quality creative player. Not to mention Arteta, Montreal, and him were supposed to play a big role in helping Sanchez integrate

you can get a gif right, but can't do the link? gah, what a noob.

the daily mail is garbage. they don't report anything, they just fabricate. he's not going anywhere. he's already said he's not interested in leaving and we're not interested in selling.

Lol, I just pasted the URL like I always do.

What's the order of English media trustworthiness? I basically just check my favorite twitter feeds/sites for Arsenal news, and bring it here to discuss, regardless of if I actually think it has legs or not. I'm itching for the season to start.

i think i've done this tier before but it's pretty much:

Tier 1 - Times

If they report it, it's happening.

Tier 2 - Guardian, Telegraph, BBC, SkySports

Generally these guys have decent info, though clearly it's being leaked by someone with an agenda.

Tier 3 - Mirror, Mail, other tabloids

These are just as likely to make shite up as they are to get good info.

Tier 4 - Goal, Caught Offsides, football rumor websites

They're just making shite up.

Tier 5 - The S**.

worst piece of shite out there.

Individual reporters for arsenal: Jeremy Wilson at the Telegraph, David Ornstein of the BBC, John Cross of the Mirror sometimes gets decent info, Kike Marin in Spain has gotten a lot of good info over the years on Arsenal related things.

The general problem is, decent reporters say things like "[Club] inquired about/interested in [Player X]" then one of the tabloids or shite rumor sites runs with that story as "[Player X] close to joining [Club]!!!!!"

I'm finishing up my Rheumatology fellowship. But my call is home call and usually only requires half a day on the weekends.
