I'm leaving this here but Mikel Arteta doesn't deserve to play for The Arsenal. He's been AWFUL. No frick that, ATROCIOUS all season. If Flamini wasn't an idiot, we'd be down 2-0 at the most right now.

Lars Bender needs to come home.

We are still a couple of players away from being a championship team. We are going to get worked by Munich.

We need replacements for Arteta and Flamini, who are really stop gaps. We need a forward to replace Podolski, who is annoying me with his insistence on coming back to the ball. We need another center half. We need a real winger, we need another player to run behind the defense, we need a versatile midfielder/winger to replace Rosicky. And soon we need a RB.

All this isn't just based on this game. We've lost big before to title rivals and still won trophies. But we need replacements this summer.

Woke up, just put the game on and I'm already done. Haven't been awake but 20 minutes.

No trophy this year boys. Was fun while it lasted. Battle for 4th will be interesting yet again. I'm saying this crushes the squad and we go on a skid and miss out in champions league.

Oh and you can't blame Arteta. He's been our best signing these past few years and its not even close. Ozil has been a non factor.

That's how I felt too, until I looked at previous tables to see how many points fourth usually won. Usually it takes around 70. Basically we would have to have an unprecedented collapse, as we need 15 points from our last 13 games to reach seventy. Conversely, the fifth placed team is Everton at 45 points. They would need 25 points from 14 games to reach seventy. They could certainly do that, but that would be unlikely. We probably won't win any trophies, but we have eight games remaining against lower level opposition. We could easily beat all those teams, which would give us 24 points. The six remaining games I'm not optimistic about, since they are against opposition we struggle against, but it think we should be fine in terms of getting fourth at the minimum.

I'm not saying there's nothing to learn from this match, but from an effort/organization standpoint, this match was an outlier from what I've seen all year. we're arsenal fans so we expect a let down every year, maybe this is when it begins, maybe it's a one-off performance.

I don't buy this Arteta has been shitty all year shite (he hasn't and his play was key in our earlier win over Liverpool). the troubling thing to me is jack's lack of form in big matches. he needs to turn that shite around soon because all we have are big matches. on a slightly lesser note, gibbs also needs to play in big matches. his pace is key against those teams with quicker wingers.

I agree with crazy, this team has been flawed all year. we certainly need to improve in the summer if we want to contend for the CL. however, I wouldn't give up on this season just yet (at least in the FA Cup and securing a CL birth). we've done very well against lower opposition. if we keep that up, we'll be fine.

Arteta is a danger against teams with energetic midfields. He's just too slow.

Wilshere tries to do way too much when the chips are down. He has to figure out that the game has to come to him rather than manufacturing motivation because everyone in the league insists on fouling him.

We need to buy in a big way this summer. At least 3 quality players.

Also the Chamberlain-Wilshere axis is something we should experiment with. They played together against Tottenham in the FA Cup and they were good together, apart from Wilshere dawdling on the ball. They are both more athletic Arteta, but they aren't as good with positioning yet. The reality is that if we leave Arteta as a single pivot, he's going to get overrun. We still need him, but against big teams he's a liability.

So should I be thankful I had a soccer match this morning and missed our game? I saw the scoreline and who scored, so only 1 goal from SAS and we lost 5-1...

He's your #10 so he's always on the ball, of course he's gunna get fouled. Also, he's a fricking hot head so it doesn't take much to get under his skin. Wilshere is a talent no doubt. He's still got a bit of maturing to do though

Same reason Suarez is a target at just about every game away from Anfield.

It's more the way he plays, driving at defenders if they give him an inch of space. Ozil, Cazorla, Fabregas, Van Persie, and all our players who could play the no 10 haven't gotten fouled as much as he does.

We really miss Ramsey. Its a damn shame we can't go a season without extended injuries to important players.

I was half kidding. We finish 4th. I don't see us getting enough points though from man u, city, Chelsea and everton to compete for a title. With kun out this is chelseas chance to grab a hold.

Arteta is slow and I think as he's getting up there you need him paired with Ramsey since he can go box to box effortlessly. But you can't rag on the guy that's held this team together since the fabregas and nasri departures.

Doesn't deserve to wear the shirt is a lil harsh from bottom9.

I think we make CL again, given the table. Heck, last week the entire bottom half of the table was within two points of the relegation zone.

But Arsene's teams seem fragile psychologically AS FAR AS THE BPL TROPHY. We seem to suck it up when it comes to making the top four.

But yes, this arse-kicking I think destroys this team's psyche as far as the trophy.

AND it brings back all the frustration of how we always have a ton of key players injured.

Yes, it's probably fate, but I'd fire the training staff and team doctors just to be sure.

frick this match. This was humiliating and aggravating.
