Huge game on Sunday. Chance to finish first round of games top of the table. Chance to open another gap between us and Chelsea and/or Liverpool. Chance to prove to critics and ourselves we can win on the road against another top 8 side

Can't wait. Newcastle has been playing well. A very good test.

Happy with the result today.

Came back strong after trailing 0-1. Lots of positives today. Podolski back,Santi is back to form, Gibbs playing extremely well.

Nah definitely play bendtner (seriously) instead of Walcott or podolski at CF.. both of them are good at their wide positions and give our naturally centered team width. Neither are as good with their back to goal, people always see them score and assume they should just be our strikers but it's a question of matching a player to his place on the pitch.

Depends on how opponents set up. Giroud is great for teams playing deep, because he doesn't need to get behind.

Higher lines, we may want to run theo up there.

Bendtner would be fine for compact sides when we need to swing it in there.

I liked our response today. We're in good shape but need to get healthy and add another piece.

Sunday is going to be a difficult match, but one where need to take all of the points. With City being 1 point behind and playing Crystal Palace at home on Saturday we need a win to maintain first place.

Can't wait, Newcastle has been playing well and it should be a very entertaining match.

One more match til the halfway point eh? Can't believe we'll probably be 40+ at the mid point.

The conundrum of Olivier Giroud was fully illustrated in East London. He snatched at a presentable chance in the first half, yet it’s hard to believe players such as Podolski, Ramsey and Walcott would find the opportunities they do without his presence

I loved the way that bringing on Poldi and letting Cazorla go to the middle and dictate play really opened up the game. We can't keep playing 5 or 4 CMs.

Wenger post game:

on the seriousness of Ramsey's injury…
It looks [serious]. It looks like a thigh strain. I don't know how serious the thigh strain is but the Christmas period certainly is over for him. It was his birthday today.
on how long he will be out for…
I don't know how long. We will see tomorrow morning.
on Ramsey's gestures when he got injured…
He knew straight away but we have to see

He has been playing so much that an injury was really inevitable. Get better soon Rambo. I'll still be repping you on my back.

Hey glass, Drink a few for me. My crews are running behind with weather delays. So I'll catch the second round in a few weeks.

Ozil is out with a shoulder. Could be a blessing in disguise because he has looked a bit leg weary lately. Lots of matches.

Newcastle are a tough matchup for us, but I like having both Rosicky and Flamini in the midfield to put in work. Arteta should be fit enough to put in a few minutes off the bench. Wouldn't be surprised to see Podolski for about the half an hour either.

Should be a highly entertaining match this morning boys and girl. I expect Newcastle to come at us early. If we can weather that I feel good about our chances.

Off to the pub.

GO GUNNERS
GO FALCONS
GO SAINTS

Long day ahead.

Not getting a full pub day myself, but will go out for the Saints game because my local affliate refuses to show it.

BTW, Ozil will miss today, Cardiff, and maybe Spurs.
