Are soccer players taught to flop?

You see this in all sports but it seems more common in the NBA and soccer, is it taught?
QB's are still the worse at flopping but some of these matches a players barely gets touched and they act like they've been hit by a Mack truck.
A couple of yellow cards I was like "wtf" because the player obviously flopped to get it called.

It's the first thing they teach kids when they start playing.
That's not flopping. It's lame, I agree.

Of course. I don't think the coach has a flopping session but he probably says:
"Huberto during the course of these next 10 minutes in which our team is clinging to a mere 1 goal lead could you flail around like a wounded seal for a brief 2 minute period? Thanks."

It's more likely if your name ends in a vowel.

I was taught to run through a player and get the call. Never to flop. If I am taking on two defenders I will try to split them and get the call. But that is not a flop. Its just try to get them to obstruct you.

I teach my players to go down on certain types of contact.
And I'm a God-fearing 'Murican!

Can't figure out what is more annoying: the actual "flopping" or the dozens of threads about it.

Thanks. And this is the dumbest one of them all.

I'd say it's much less to do with coaching, than simply that kids watch soccer on TV sand see major stars do it on a regular basis.. Not surprising that those same kids would go on to play like that when they're older.
That's why it's going to be pretty much impossible to get it out of the game. It's become instinctive to players because it's been going on for so long and is for the most part accepted.

Are Tulane fans taught how to be douches, or do they just come by it naturally?

i don't see what's wrong with this. it's a legit question, and it didn't seem to be asked in a condescending or trolling way.

Not knocking the question, just was inspired by the phrasing of it to rip on Tulane.
