The Francophone European countries will vote Morocco, but the Telegraph just had an article today saying all of the UK will likely vote for the United Bid as will the majority of Europe.
We’re getting some African defections, more so then they are getting from the Americas.
I haven’t seen anything about Asia leaning Morocco, but if they go Morocco heavy then yeah we’re in trouble. But I think they’d have to go 70-75% Morocco to swing it.
I believe Asia and Africa account for 103 members (maybe a little less if not all of them can vote), and 104 is needed to host. Obviously we will get some of their votes, but they still control a large enough number to be intimidating. Especially because we don’t have all of CONCACAF and UEFA locked down.

Trump will play no part in this decision other than being a scapegoat.
I think Trump is a fricking crazy person, but if we don't get the World Cup, it won't be because of him.
if we don't get the Wold Cup it will be because of the Obama DOJ/FBI and what they did to FIFA
and i'm not criticizing Obama, just stating facts. that shite pissed off FIFA and we're loathed because of it

If the US joint bid loses out on the World Cup we should legitimately think about forming our own footballing body. FIFA corruption has played a part in at least 3 of the world cups spanning from 2010-2022.
I'm for it. One that actually makes sense.

Ultimately, FIFA may not like us, but they like money, and the United bid will destroy any previous records for profits
You're confusing FIFA as the governing body with all of the little Federation Heads - FIFA loves money. But the individual Federation heads love bribes more. They'll vote however their wallet tells them.

Belgium, Serbia, and Russia all voted Morocco, was that expected? I know France was.

But that is out of today's news cycle so it isn't a viable reason for the titty-baby whiners.

Why should China and India count more?
Because they have more people... That's the only fair way to do the voting, regardless of their standing in world football. They should have more representation in a world federation than Martinique.

The filthy Dutch have pledged for Morocco.

So India's vote should count ~122 times more than Belgium? That's absurd, and would never work because most of your soccer crazed countries would immediately drop out of the federation.

You don't really believe that your FIFA voting power should be directly tied to population, do you?

Looking at the latest update to the vote tracker from the previous page, we are halfway to the # of votes we need if the people leaning our way stick with us.

So the how should it be done?
UEFA countries are weighted more?

Maybe not directly, but it should definitely be a factor.

Did I say that? Brazil (#6) is the only South American country in the top 27 in population (Colombia is #28). Asia/Oceania has 6 of the top 10, and 13 of the top 20 (add one more if you want to count Russia as part of Asia). And China and India both have over 1 billion more people than the 3rd place country (USA). Africa has only 4 of the top 20 and Europe only has 3 of the top 20.

No, I was asking for alternatives.
You need to relax.

It could be tied to national team performance, domestic league performance, continental competition performance, and a slew of other factors before population.

I'd much rather keep it like it is than rely on population.
