Is better and a more threatening team with Fabregas on the field? Del Bosque and the Spain are in trouble if he doesn't play more minutes against Germany.

Del Bosque just thinks Torres will regain his Euro 2008 form over night. He is being more stubborn about this than Bob Bradley thinking that Findley equals Davies in anything other than pure speed.

Pedro gave them a boost, too.

Torres needs more time to get back on track.

He looked high out there tonight and not in sync with the midfield and Villa. Once Fabregas and Pedro entered the game, Spain started to look less lethargic and more dangerous.

Spain still need to field a true Winger, they continually force the ball up the pitch through the middle.

And they need to stop playing the most painful and boring games I have ever watched. Maybe the flopping to the ground could use a bit backing off as well. Portugal looks like grown tough men compared to these floppers.

Today's game was far from boring even if it was 1-0.

so creating one scoring chance, and lots of passing in your own half is more exciting than constant blitz?

also, if for some reason you do like passing more than shooting, germany has the record for passing effeciency at any world cup, and they set that record at this world cup. so if you like scoring or you like passing you would have to go with the germans unless you are bias.

I think what it is, is Villa and Torres cannot play on the field at the same time - look at Euro 08, when Villa got injured, Torres started playing well - and Fabregas and Villa allow them to set up Villa to drift up from the left in a more attacking role with a 4-2-1-3 formation.

Xavi was terrible against Paraguay. One of the worst games I've ever seen from him

what do you do then, bench one of the best strikers in the world? I could maybe see resting Torres to start the game, he obviously hasnt been 100% from the injury; but it would take gigantic balls to do so if you are a manager. Also Villa has been far superior to him on the International level. Regardless, those are 2 guys you just have to put on the field because they can change the game at any moment.

I've been very unimpressed with Torres so far. I love Spain's team but Torres just really isn't doing any good for them at all. Fabregas brings more umph to their squad that simply wasn't present with Torres on the field

Gorilla, stop while you're slightly behind, every comment rapes whatever semblance of footballing credibility you felt you had.
