What are your thoughts on this cycle. We have seen in the past that a lot can happen in 2 years, in regards to young guys coming out of no where. It's looks like Pulisic will be there, but what about a Carter-Vickers, Zelalem, or Hyndman?
We got Bobby Wood balling out of no where, Nagbe jumping on board, Ethan Finlay showing some potential.

Which old men get left off? Should be fun to watch.

Too many things can happen in the next two years. I do think Pulisic will be there. I don't think Jones and Dempsey will be there.

Wondo and Mix should be left off as well.

Rock Solid barring injury:

Bradley, Guzan, Howard, Brooks, Yedlin, Fabian.

Very Good bets:

Pulisic, Bedoya, Altidore, Wood, Miazga.

Thats a pretty good list for now.

Altidore will be there if he's healthy.

Aron Johansson is a lock I think. Young guy that will be in his prime in 2018 and we don't have a ton of alternatives.

Zelalem

He will be apparently spending next season training exclusively with the first team at Arsenal. If it works out like it has for Iwobi then I could possibly see him get an invite.

He still isn't cap tied iirc. Hope we get to see that pretty soon.

Dude can't stay healthy so I wouldn't say he is a lock by any means.

Howard is definitely not a lock. He will be 38 or 39. Altidore will definitely be there. I think Wood and Miazga will almost assuredly be there too, if he continues his current ascendancy. I think Bedoya has a good chance unless he gets injured or his form drops precipitously.

If anyone with US soccer brings his name up for the World Cup they should be fired immately and beaten on the way out of the building.

We really need to find a solid defensive mid. I can't stress enough how valuable Beckerman was in Brazil... he helped out on the backline, did the dirty work in the midfield and also held up play extremely well.

Maybe that guy is Cameron since we'll seemingly have a wealth of quality center back options in 2018 with Brooks, Miazga, Besler, Omar, CCV, Birnbaum.

ETA: speaking of which, Cameron isn't listed but he as just as much of a lock as some of the other guys that were listed.

I'm not a Bedoya fan... He is serviceable but nothing to get excited about. I hope Hyndman is ready in 2018. These next two years are huge for him and he should mature a lot.

I think Fab should be at LB and then we find someone else at LW. Dempsey or Lletget would be two likely candidates. Maybe Finlay if he really comes on strong.

Assuming we play that formation.

I think Dempsey will be there if he wants to be. If Germany can use a 35 year old Klose then we can use a 35 year old Dempsey

That would be a bad idea.

?

Only way he wouldn't be on the team is if he retires.

He may be our #3, but if he's still active, he's there.

Nagbe should be there, assuming he can steer clear of Nigel de Jong for a couple more years
