I want to like Scuffed, but the two hosts have to be some of the most boring people on the planet

If they can use their influence to get more kids, especially inner city and underserved areas, to start playing soccer and get them on a better life path than more power to them.

but that’s not going to happen because they take a knee before a match with Whales. and you know that.

Very monotone and their podcast audio is too low, but honestly it’s pretty solid

They can better accomplish that by playing well at soccer.

But what does not kneeling accomplish?

What is wrong with kneeling?

personally, I don’t care. but it obviously pisses a lot of people off that they aren’t intending to piss off.

and it brings exactly zero people into the fold.

so I ask you a similar question, what’s the point?

keep in mind we’re arguing the same side of the coin

The point is obviously to “bring about change”, but I bet if you asked all the kneelers why they are kneeling, the answers would be very vague.

Problem is people in the media are afraid to ask those questions because they’d be labeled a racist.

But by the same token, if you ask people to specifically explain why they are against the kneeling, they couldn’t give you a concise answer either.

The anger seems to mostly stem from the thought that “you’re supposed to stand for the anthem” Those people are just as much of sheep as the kneelers.

Point is, neither action should offend the “other side”. But it does because people are looking for reasons to be angry.

and that’s what gives me tired head. and i’m assuming millions of others, yourself included. it just doesn’t seem like that distant a memory that on the rare occasion our nation gets to don the badge, that the simple act of standing and singing for the anthem was a big deal.

if we collectively want to distance from that, fine, but the further we get from that basic ideal, people will inevitably question what the point of the entire exercise is. we’re the only major power who is currently debating in this manner. I think of nations like France, who’s minority players have just as relevant grievances as ours, but alas they just won a world cup

Thus they need to stand up and play the damn game.

Why do they need to stand up though?

And whether they stand or kneel, they are going to play.

(If he picks us) I think you will see Musah play as an 8 CM as opposed to the wing. That's what he did for England and Berhalter has hinted at that as well. I think they'd put Reyna on the wing but have him drift into the 10 role in a 3-2-5. That is basically what Dortmund has had him doing recently anyway when Reus is in the lineup.

They should stand up for those that have forever been laid to rest to give them the right to play a GAME!

If there was actual injustice and racism going on I think most people wouldn’t have a problem with it. The problem is that most of the times the reason they kneeled for has been complete horseshite and didn’t actually have anything to do with racism in America. Just because you say something is racist doesn’t meant it is. Give me something tangible and provable and I’ll be right there kneeling with you. Until then I’m gonna roll my eyes because you think Michael Brown got shot because he was black

Y'all are fricking insufferable. Argue this on the Political Board and just talk about the actual soccer part here.

Agreed

Who does Greg decide to play completely out of position tomorrow is the real question
