I remember this like it was yesterday. From Opening game to the raising of the cup.

I remember Landon's goal vs. Algeria & thinking the USA had a REAL shot to make the Semis but once again ran into the Ghanaians and that was that.

I remember the cold summers, the sound of the vuvuzela and how much the Europeans hated it.

And I remember Cesc Fabregas making that pass to Iniesta and knowing the Dutch were dead. Great run of World Cups from 1998-2014, 2010 is arguably the best.

Your thoughts?

Donovan's goal is the single best moment in USMNT history terms of opening the game to the casual sports fan.

While we made a quarterfinal run in 2002, there weren't many like myself that were staying up until 4am to watch that.

2010 was also the first year that ESPN went all-in with it's World Cup coverage and treating it like the premier event that it is, couple that with how crazy the Slovenia and Algeria matches were for the US, and it was the perfect storm.

I will always have fond memories of that tournament.

Other than the USMNT of course, Forlan, Suarez, England's dissaray, and South Africa come to mind. South Africa produced a world cup that was uniquely their own. Best cup of my lifetime.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the vuvuzelas.

Maradona snorting lines right before coaching Argentina matches was fun too.

Uruguay knocking out Ghana brought a disturbing amount of joy to me that summer

to Ghana the eternal thorn in our side

Hot take: the vuvuzelas never bothered me over the TV.

I can see the annoyance if I was at a match though.

‘94 was GOAT despite Roberto baggio thinking the goal was 10 feet tall.

France has become the epitome of feast or famine...I don't expect them to make it out the group stages in 2022

Didn’t a younger Rebecca Lowe make a few appearances on espn? I remember MIB had a segment.
