I always liked these navy kits better, 3-0 loss to the Czechs notwithstanding.

The tie vs England in game one was so satisfying. They were convinced they were going to kick our arse and were embarrassed with the draw.

2010 and 2002 are definitely my favorite world cups.

The Giovanni van Bronckhorst goal was the best of the tournament. What a thing of beauty. Best World Cup in my lifetime.

I honestly believe we should have gotten to the semi-finals that year. A little luck against Ghana would have us up against Uruguay, and I think we would have played them even the way we set up. I really wish Charlie Davies never got injured, as his goal against Mexico at the Azteca is one of my favorite goals from the US.

Our swagger was soo damn high at that time. Was a great time to be a fan.

Terrible feeling how much it has deflated since then. Different era.

I only got to see the opening group match against England, left to boot camp three days later.

The buildup that summer was epic.

Getting pumped to play the Brits with this Dodge Challenger commercial that came out leading up to it:

Healthy Davies, Holden, Gooch, and Jermaine Jones and I think we make it to the semis. Crazy that injuries took out four potential starters.
