I don't feel sorry for someone making 20M a year having to pay 9M in taxes. His one year salary will be more than I will ever make in a lifetime.

This isn’t about you and your feelings. The OP was pointing out how insane it is to get 20mm on draft night and pay nearly half of that in taxes. If you were better at basketball I’d assume you wouldn’t enjoy paying 9mm in taxes either

Correct.
I'm against all taxation, but if we're going to have them, then they should be collected when we voluntarily spend our wealth, not taken by force when we earn it.
