Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv needs Patriot missiles to create an air shield against further Russian missile attacks, and it’s likely he’ll get them in an additional $6 billion aid package expected to be announced by the U.S. as soon as Friday.

quote:

Zelenskyy said at least seven Patriot systems are needed to protect Ukrainian cities. “We urgently need Patriot systems and missiles for them,” Zelenskyy said. “This is what can and should save lives right now.”

U.S. officials said the aid package will be funded through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which pays for longer-term contracts with the defense industry and means that it could take many months or years for the weapons to arrive. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss details not yet made public.

I believe in my heart, that if Z asked the US for nukes, they'd happily let him have it in some capacity.

It is amazing to me how easily our politicians aid other countries, but we can’t seem to get the same level of effort to help our own vets.

Maybe be we really haven’t trusted them with large weapon systems. The government knows Z is a fig who would attack Russia if he could and they don’t want that IMO.

This will always go up due to COLA. Y’all will whine about deficits and budgets but never consider these factors.

Well he has already burned through over 200 billion and that was before Russia significantly ramped up its game.

I read where they had already expanded the factories for Patriots long before the 60 billion tranche was asked for....hmmm someone knew it was going to pass.

Do the math. Of the 60 billion only around 35 billion is for weapons, probably close to 10 billion for the artillery shells, another 10 for these seven systems.

That leaves you 15 billion for patriot missiles at 4 million a pop and Russia is sending 100 drones a night. So they will have a few months of missiles before they are out again.

Ironically he just wants enough to get past the election, but every time he approves more money Americans get more and more pissed at him. Its having the opposite effect he thinks its having, course his handlers are getting exactly what they want, more money.

At this point we could have just paid for the land that Russia wants and give it to the Palestinians and let them fight it out.

We would have saved a few hundred billion.

The big Ukraine hawks generally didn’t care about America. Nuland is a good example of that.

This has turned into our Eastern European client who’s a junkie and always looking for that next hit.

Of course our DC “public servants” are only too happy to enable him.

Since there’s really no downside to it, we should give Ukraine everything they ask for.
