People have been waiting for millenia for the rapture, the antichrist, Jesus coming down from the clouds, etc.

It's all a bunch of bull shite.
...knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

So if anyone tells you that people will doubt their bullshite, you shouldn't doubt their bullshite?

I have a hunch you'll be subject to the tribulation. But at least you will witness the rapture and be able to explain it to the other godless heathens with you.

I bet you're a whole ball of fun at your work Christmas party.

Im probably more mid trib... nothing testifies the power of Christ and God than Christian's who are willing to die for their belief.

And I believe nearly all of the apostles ended up in prison and murdered for their beliefs.

It just doesnt line up. I also believe we have already started into the road of tribulation.

I do wonder what type of chaotic event would have everyone on earth looking to an antichrist and believing in him. A rapture could definitely create that scenario.

Muslims flew airplanes into skyscrapers for their beliefs. A few Beatles fans committed suicide after John Lennon was murdered. The Heaven's Gate cult committed suicide thinking they were going to board a UFO or some such shite.

People die for all kinds of crazy reasons.

You are satisfied with being a scoffer. Enjoy your position.

I enjoy mine as a believer.

Keep on believin’, my man. But odds are future generations are going to view Jesus like ours does Zeus, Osiris, etc. Society will gradually mature to the point that people will become more accepting of mortality and won’t need that crutch anymore.

Many before you have tried to bury Him.

They have been quite unsuccessful.

Be well.

Unless we destroy ourselves prematurely, 2,000 years is an eye blink next to the timescale of the history and future of mankind.

There will be a day when people give it up and move on to something else. Heck, Islam is on pace to overtake Christianity as the largest religion before the end of this century.

That is not the purpose of belief in Christ.

Matthew 7
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It's going to be pre trib Rapture of the Church. There's no reason for the Church to go through a purge or cleansing. That's the finished work of Christ and its complete.

Personally, I think the rapture will be explained by the world through....Aliens.

You already have seen the Pentagon going full force with the UFO crap. 2 Thessalonians discusses the Lord send a "strong delusion".

2 Thessalonians 2

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness

What I personally believe is that there will be demonic forces at play. Think about it, once the Christians are removed if you heard "super natural" voices explaining and recordings...you'd believe it was Aliens because to the secular...spirit world does not exist.

Now say those same "voices" explained they were taking away those people for "your own good", that they were "terrorists, etc." That they were targeted. I think things will be swiftly forgotten and the Christians that were will be forgotten, quickly. Like nothing happened. It'll be strange.

I'm fine with that. I just don't want my wife, children or grandson to suffer through it. Every since I was a kid and they tried to scare the shite out of us in Sunday school, I always wondered if I could volunteer to stay, suffer and fight for my loved ones to be raptured pre-tribulation. I'd have no hesitation. Especially if I get to whip some arse on the way up to the spirit in the sky.

I don't know when Christianity will become an obsolete religion, but I don't expect that a million years from now people are still going to be waiting on Jesus to show up any day. At some point people are going to move on from it.
