One mountain that I would be totally on board with changing is Mt. Rainier. It's named after a British admiral who never even stepped foot into this country and was our eventual enemy. Rename that one Mt. Tahoma or Mt. Tacoma.

There is no real way to quantify how many the first peoples murdered over history. But, we can safely assume it’s more than 173.

Or maybe it’s because First People Describes a group of people the vast majority of whose didn’t lead any massacres where as Naming the mountain after 1 guu who did lead a massacre means it’s 100% named after a murderer.

The ridiculousness with which the agency is going after "offensive" names is maddening. I am a Cartographer with USGS which falls under DOI and we have to deal with this bs for everything we put out now
