Democrats are so myopic that they believe the story here is R governors playing politics with immigrants, when the optics are pretty clear. Dems governors of sanctuary states dont want the migrants any more than the border states do.

The narrative right wing media is trying to portray is not the truth either. The folks at Martha's Vineyard came out fed these people, gave them shelter and had lawyers out there trying to sort out what occurred and how to help them. They werent cowering in their homes waiting for the National Guard to quickly remove them. I dont necessarily disagree with the tactic of sending these folks to sanctuary cities but in this situation there was a lot of distortion coming out from the right wing pundits over what occurred to make it appeared DeSantis "owned the libs"

I don't understand your argument. Are you suggesting that there aren't a couple million illegals crossing the southern border in 2022? Or is your argument that 2 million illegal border crossers is not a big deal and comfortably managed by all parties involved?

I don't remember anybody suggesting the folks of MV were "cowering" at the sight of their unwanted and temporary guests. FFS what would they have to cower about with all the law enforcement and media, which probably outnumbered the illegals 5 to 1.
The folks of MV came out and fed the illegals for all of 24-36 hours and put a roof over their head for one night. That might impress you, but it doesn't impress anybody remotely aware of what the rest of the country is burdened with by policies that MV votes for and funds.
The narrative is actually about how the folks of MV had the dirty brown people removed from their island post-haste, and unapologetically failed to live up to their own commitments as a sanctuary island. They proved the racists (by their own measure) and hypocrites (by anyone's measure) we all knew they were.

Trying to twist this into anything besides naked hypocrisy is idiotic. They set out some corn flakes with one hand while the other held the phone telling the governor to get those damn brown people off their island, and do it quickly. And that's exactly what happened. Telling y'all now. If Desantis runs for potus and becomes the gop nominee, media will start churning out rape accusations.
My prediction is that they will claim that Desantis was raping women while his wife was suffering from cancer. We'll all lol at the obviousness of that bullshite, but there will be 10s of millions of people who believe it..

How does that prove they are racist or hypocrites if the island does not have the means to properly care for these folks but they send the somewhere in else in the state that can? If they would have sent them back to Texas I would agree.
