that a lack of charging infrastructure within (insert damn near any state name) would make the widespread use of EVs “impracticable” and that the state would need to build “massive amounts of new power generation” to “sustain the misadventure of electric vehicles.”

There you go.

They're in Cody, Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, etc. Also plenty along the interstates.

I've spent time in Laramie and Cheyenne, and never seen an EV charger.

It’s dubious that these EVs would even exist at this point.

If you don't drive an EV you're probably not really looking for them though

Of course it is. One of the resolution's co-sponsors admits it. Wyoming isn't a munch of freedom restricting Communists like California's politicians, who actually want to ban sales of gas powered vehicles and gas stoves.

quote:

SJ 4 seeks to encourage Wyoming’s industries and residents to voluntarily limit the sale and purchase of new EVs, with the goal of phasing them out entirely by 2035.

Unlike California’s ban on gas-powered cars, the resolution’s co-sponsor, Sen. Brian Boner, R-Douglas, said the Wyoming resolution would be meaningful in making a statement if passed, but it would be entirely symbolic.

“One might even say tongue-in-cheek, but obviously it’s a very serious issue that deserves some public discussion,” Boner said.

“I’m interested in making sure that the solutions that some folks want to the so-called climate crisis are actually practical in real life,” Boner said. “I just don’t appreciate when other states try to force technology that isn’t ready.”

Yeah. It's 80 mph in Nebraska and then changes to 90 mph when you hit Wyoming and it stays at 90 mph all the way into Oregon.

On what road? Since when?

I-80 is 75 when you hit Wyoming, and that's as recent as last summer.

I guess it was a mirage. When I look online, it's listed as 80 mph. But on the move to Oregon, it seemed like I passed at least forty or fifty 90 MPH signs posted in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and a little ways into Oregon.

Distinctly remember being surprised when I first saw an 80 MPH sign in Nebraska and being shocked that it went up again in Wyoming.

We put several thousand miles on the RV every year, all over the country, including from Montana to Florida and back. I don't know that I've seen anywhere in the country that's 90 mph.
