The judicial process in the military, like in the civilian world, often takes time. They were never going to just drag the dude outside and shoot him.
I hope they reassign these asshats to Antarctica while they await their trials.

I'm no military man (which I regret) but I thought court-martial was equivalent to charged with a violation of military law, and the subsequent court process? I guess I could look it up, but if I'm wrong I shall face the executioner.

That's correct. But it's far from the only form of judicial punishment military members are subject to. There's other stuff they can do that doesn't call for a Courts Martial.
These guys are definitely getting one though. They'll be tried for treason, I imagine.

That seems appropriate based upon what they did. Hard to understand how Soviet immigrants got in those positions anyhow?
If they lose their security clearances they will be retired, they can't serve without security access.
