Term limits became an ammendment to the constitution?

2 for the senate, 3 for the house

That might be the only way I would think about supporting foreign aid

No.

Term limits are unrelated. I’m sick and tired of good policy having to be offset with bad policy in 1,000 page bills.

No.

The two need to be mutually exclusive. No aid for any foreign bullshite and term limits for both the house and senate.

Bills need to be a max of two pages and read publicly for the nation to hear what is actually being voted on. All of this hiding shite in bills is what people are tired of.

WE are the term limits.

you knuckleheads will continually vote just to beat the other side... instead of voting people out.

i'm guilty for almost all of my voting history for doing exactly that. never again will i vote for someone i see as a uniparty candidate.

Thing is, they ALL become uniparty at some point. Some start that way, others morph over time. I may not vote for an incumbent ever again.

No. One trillion in foreign aid is insane when our national debt is so high.

My offer to Ukraine is the same offer Michael Corleone gave the Senator

One trillion would turn into 3? trillion plus over time considering interest rates

No of course I wouldn't support a trillion in aid, or a trillion in any kind of new debt. One reason Trump doesn't belong in the WH

I really don’t care too much about term limits for the house honestly, but no more than 5 terms (10 years consecutive or not) would be fine.

For senate, no term limits. But repeal 17th amendment.

Too much democracy or what? Curious why you would repeal it

Edit: I dunno thinking about it now it would free the Senator to act and vote what they feel is right instead of constantly on campaign mode. I dunno id have to think about this some more. My gut tells me to err on the side of more democracy though

No, Term limits would give the bureaucrats more power than they already have.

The only people who benefit from term-limits are the unelected bureaucrats. The invisible hand of government will become more powerful than elected officials.

Don’t like your current politicians, organize and vote them out

We should repeal the 17th amendment and go back to letting your state’s elected officials appoint state’s federal Senators. This would make Senators more beholden to their state’s interests instead of their party’s interests

Gotcha. I can see the merit in that but still dunno, everything in my gut tells me to err on elections as messy as it is. Id have to think on it
