Would you go to the "Extreme" to defend your home?

As opposed to letting someone inside your home where they will almost assuredly kill you?

If someone today is breaking into an occupied house, I can't imagine they aren't prepared to kill whoever is inside.

I believe I could. The few times where i've heard a noise in the night or thought someone may be trying to get in (thankfully they've all been false alarms), my immediate thoughts were not on the life of a potential intruder. My immediate thoughts were, "Get to your weapon. If you go down, mrs Jiminy is defenseless and could be raped or killed . Find threat, terminate threat." And for me it's that simple.







And for the record, I disagree that dropping an intruder who has threatened the life of me and my loved ones is the extreme. It's the expectation. When I married my wife, I vowed to protect her even at the cost of my own life. So escalating to that level of violence is anything but extreme to me.

Big difference between being the hunter and being the hunted. I don't even kill mosquitos but I would easily shoot someone trying to break in and possibly cause harm to my family.

I have a harder time shooting an animal than I would someone breaking into my home. At least when I am out hunting, I'm just doing it to feed my family but there is a slight bit of guilt as that animal likely has done me no wrong. Someone breaks into my house, where my family is sleeping, that remorse would in no way exist.

I would rename this thread to "Would you do the "Basic" duty to defend your home and family?"

And my answer is without question or hesitation.
The only form of gun control for me is using 2 hands.

I appreciate what he's getting at, but if someone breaks into your home and you shoot them, I don't think your online post history is going to make much of a difference in your case.
