Would you classify laws defunding police and scaling back criminal laws as "right wing"?

OR "conservative"?

Elimination of cash bail, even for those accused of murder?

Not prosecuting thefts under $1000?

What about removing laws ensuring that marriage remains traditional between a man and a woman? Or other public order/enforcement of morality laws?

Or what about wholescale scaling back our national security and defense spending/power below that of where Europe is, currently.

Removing regulations/security at the border?

For the record, I do not.

Maybe. Being in favor of a strong defense isn't the same as writing a blank check.

Depends on the law. It can be, but it depends on how and why it’s done.

Depends on reasoning.

For social justice? frick naw. They would create massive theft rings.

Empty the prisons of non violent, non property crimes though. I am all for that.

A thief and a murderer of innocents, frick now. I favor stricter sentencing.

Is this a thread where people will argue what is truly "conservative" for 10 pages? Conservative values vs actual conservatism in laws made or not made?

You have a slow day today?

I'm talking about actual defense spending/authority, not DEI programs and retirement

This would naturally be included in a reduction in police power/criminal laws.

I can only assume he’s trying to make a stupid point about small government conservatives or something

Your parameters are way to broad.. you provided no context to what you think the terms mean and simply want to catch people in some word play.

Someone made a claim yesterday that "right wing" means "Libertarianism (big-L, anarchism).

Nope. The question is straightforward.

Not really.

Had I wanted to be inflammatory I'd have used terms like BLM

I added qualifiers for you. To become less secure/protective than Europe.

FWIW, technically the proper level for this discussion would be "none" but I'm trying to be reasonable with the qualifications.

I would imagine most would describe that as Libertarianism, not "far right"

If we're describing "libertarian" as "far right/conservative" then I'm the most conservative poster on this board. I don't think people agree with that.

Obviously not, but they share a desire for small(er) government. A Venn diagram would have some overlap.

Anarchy doesn’t mean there are no laws.

Stop being stupid.
