A ship carrying 18,000 tons of Ukrainian corn reached a Spanish port on June 13. Ukraine shipped corn to Poland using trucks and then loaded it onto a ship at Poland’s Baltic Sea port of Swinoujsci.

....and plugs has dedicated millions of acres of acreage to corn crops. Some of that acreage could be used for wheat crops.
So that the a-hole can blend our gasoline with 15% Ethanol. For the record, extended use of Ethanol damages internal combustion engines.
But then that fits in well with the 'everybody needs to go EV and dine on tofu' crowd.

Russia is ready to contribute to balancing global markets of agricultural products, and we see that our UN colleagues, who are aware of the scale of the global food problem, are ready for dialogue. We could talk about creating normal logistical, financial and transport conditions for increasing Russian food and fertiliser exports.
As for Ukrainian food supplies to global markets – I have to mention this because of numerous speculations – we are not hindering them. They can do it. We did not mine the Black Sea ports of Ukraine. They can clear the mines and resume food exports. We will ensure the safe navigation of civilian vessels. No problem.
But what are we talking about? According to the US Department of Agriculture, the matter concerns 6 million tonnes of wheat (we estimate it at 5 million tonnes) and 7 million tonnes of maize. This is it, altogether. Since global production of wheat stands at 800 million tonnes, 5 million tonnes make little difference for the global market, as you can see.
Anyway, Ukrainian grain can be exported, and not only via Black Sea ports. Another route is via Belarus, which is, incidentally, the cheapest way. Or via Poland or Romania, whichever you prefer. In fact, there are five or six export routes.
The problem is not with us, the problem is with the adequacy of the people in control in Kiev. They can decide what to do, and, at least in this particular case, they should not take their lead from their foreign bosses, their masters across the ocean.
But there is also the risk that grain will be used as payment for arms deliveries. This would be regrettable.

Some Western countries destabilize global production of agricultural products by imposing restrictions on supplies of Russian and Belarusian fertilizers and impeding export of Russian grain to global markets, the Russian President pointed out
Putin has accused Western countries of being cynical about global food problems.
In his speech at an online BRICS Plus summit on Friday, he noted that both supply and demand for goods and services had shrunk globally when the coronavirus pandemic broke out and the "food market was seriously disbalanced." He recalled the most famous quote attributed to Marie-Antoinette, the queen of France during the French Revolution, who said "Let them eat cake" when she was looking at her starving protesting subjects from her palace windows.
"Some Western countries are demonstrating such cynicism when they destabilize global production of agricultural products by imposing restrictions, say, on supplies of Russian and Belarusian fertilizers and impeding export of Russian grain to global markets," he said.
According to the president, grain harvest in Russia is promising to be quite good this year. "Hopefully, everything will be all right and we will be able to supply 50 million tonnes of grain to global markets, compare to 37 million tonnes we are supplying this year," he noted.
However, he pointed to the problems of insuring grain-shipping transport and banking payments under contracts, and so on.
Speaking about the problems on the global food market, Putin noted that Western countries "printed a lot of money, handed it out in their - rich - countries and have started to grab food products from the global market like a vacuum cleaner." "Not long ago, the United States was a food exporters, and now it is buying, as far as I know, by 17 billion dollars more than is selling. So, we see this deplorable result on the global food markets," he said, adding that the price hike on basic agricultural products, like grain, "has hit most developing countries, where bread and flour are essential means for survival for most of the population".

This just isn’t what actually happens because we probably export all of ours and bring it in from the farthest place we can bring it in from.

What can you say about governments that, in the midst of a global food crisis, choose instead to feed machines?
All the major crop sources of biodiesel have a higher climate impact than the fossil fuels they replace. Rapeseed oil causes 1.2 times as much global heating, soy oil twice as much, palm oil three times. The same goes for ethanol made from wheat.

Ukraine has requested Turkey to detain the Russian-flagged cargo ship Zhibek Zholy claiming that it was transporting grain from Berdyansk, Reuters reported on Friday citing a Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson and a statement by the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office demanded from Turkey to inspect the vessel and take samples of grain it was transporting for a forensic examination.
Head of the region’s military-civilian administration Yevgeny Balitsky said on Thursday the port of Berdyansk had resumed its work, and the first trade vessel had left the port and headed to "a friendly country," carrying 7,000 tonnes of grain.

Interesting considering wheat prices have dropped $1.50 over the last 2 weeks. We have this years crop in the elevator and we’re hoping for a rebound

What about the drought and excessive heat in the wheat-growing regions of the US & Canada? Wheat yields are not exactly in whack this year.
It's time to go gluten-free in America.

Much of Ukraines, if not all, is considered lost for the next 2-3 years. That’s 8% gone from the global supply.
More stress. If Russia holds on to their that creates a huge shortage for Europe and Africa.
Famine is coming.
