Russia is the world’s largest wheat exporter. Ukraine is sixth largest exporter.
Meanwhile, Our leaders remain clueless

The world has about 10 weeks of wheat supplies stored as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its fourth month, a food insecurity expert told the UN.
Sara Menker, the CEO of agriculture analytics firm Gro Intelligence, told the UN Security Council that the Russia-Ukraine war was not the cause of a food security crisis but “simply added fuel to a fire that was long burning.”
Ukraine is considered the world’s “breadbasket” and Russia and Ukraine combined account for almost a third of the world’s wheat exports.
Meanwhile, Our leaders remain clueless
quote:
This comes as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Russia of using food as a weapon. Blinken, also addressing the UN Security Council, said that Russia was holding food “hostage” not just for Ukrainians but for millions across the world.
“The Russian government seems to think that using food as a weapon will help accomplish what its invasion has not – to break the spirit of the Ukrainian people,” Blinken said.

Go figure….Obama sold all of our strategic grain reserves and did away with the program.

Oh don’t worry, this treasonous cocksucker has bigger things to deal with, such as rocking a guitar with Stephen Colbert and his band.

Gluten free by 2023!
We were warned that if Donald Trump became president we’d have famine, pestilence and war. Trump was too busy fighting off political hoaxes to get that all done but Biden has all the time in the world.

Unless things have changed since I last studied PL480 many years ago...this is not good for Africa.
We had programs to ship surplus wheat to Africa via NGOs. Farmers in the US got paid but the American taxpayer was essentially footing the bill to feed Africa.
I don't see any African nations on your Exporting pie chart. That means there will be pressure on the growing countries to voluntarily experience shortages for their own people in order to save Africa.
I hope I'm wrong but it's something to watch out for.

If we make 15% of the world supply, that means we shouldn’t drop off in what we use, just what we export. This just isn’t what actually happens because we probably export all of ours and bring it in from the farthest place we can bring it in from.

Maybe AOC was was right. Totally different reason but it might happen sooner than she predicted. The Biden admin for stirring up shite between Russia and Ukraine so as to move attention away of their abortion of of an administration.
PS - you miss on a lot of stuff and are probably missing on this one but China has been hoarding for a while. They won't share but the 10 weeks is probably incorrect.

Nah, that’s fiddling while Rome burns. Jen Psaki telling parents who can’t find formula to go talk to their doctor is Let Them Eat Cake.

I just saw this on a gold site. Not sure how accurate it is.

Russia and Ukraine together account for 29% of global wheat and 19% of global corn exports.
Russia and Ukraine together produce 29% of all the wheat exports in the world. That doesn’t mean they grow 29% of the wheat in the world. It means they grow 29% of the wheat exports.
The U.S., Australia, Canada and others grow a lot of wheat but consume most of it themselves. They export relatively little. Importantly, they don’t simply eat it. They feed it to their farm animals. People don’t often make the connection between grain and animal products, but it’s critical.
Many countries get 70–100% of their grains from either Russia or Ukraine or both. Lebanon gets 100%. Egypt is over 70%. Kenya, Sudan, Somalia, many central African countries and Jordan and other Middle Eastern countries receive much of their grain from Russia or Ukraine.
quote:
Russia is the largest exporter of fertilizer, and sanctions are cutting off supplies. Many farmers cannot get fertilizer at all, and those who can are paying between twice and three times last year’s price.
That means that crops actually produced will have much higher prices because of the higher price of inputs such as fertilizer, and the higher transportation costs due to higher prices for diesel and gasoline.

So Russia isn’t harvesting its wheat?

And You're using your company Raytheon as a weapon. This war was started to bring countless billions of dollars to Raytheon. You are largely to blame

How many weeks supply is normal?
Posted on 5/22/22 at 1:04 pm to HughsWorkPhone
This is the important question.
I assume it’s fairly close. I’ve heard before that it’s 90 days, so 12 weeks.
So yeah, shite may be starting to get bad, or maybe not.
But probably yes.

Canada is the world's second largest wheat exporter, so take the rest of it with a grain of salt. US farms primarily grow winter wheat, which is used for animal feeds, flour, etc. while Canada grows Durum that is exported worldwide for pasta and other high gluten end products.
