Even if it were true that the Catholic Church recognized marriage as a sacrament in the 12th century, it does not change the fact that God gave Eve to Adam. God did not give Steve to Adam. God’s intent was for a man and woman to enter this union.

Are you going to exempt women from paying taxes? It's been many years since I've been in a history classroom but wasn't there some big to-do about "taxation without representation".
