It's like these idiots don't understand that their stats are missing a huge component. MEN ARE PAID REALLY WELL FOR DANGEROUS, NASTY JOBS THAT WOULD BE TOO DIFFICULT FOR ALMOST ALL WOMEN. The pay for these types of jobs cause the male average to be higher. If women start catching crabs in Alaska, their average will go up too.

It is like educators that compare their louisiana salary to their counterparts in NYC to bitch about being underpaid.

Your stats are useless if they aren't logically fair. It's like going to the big dick porn website and statistically finding that 89% of white men have 8" members.

Shouldn't have gotten pregnant and taken off 9 months because others took up your slack and stole your promotion.

I have a theory for this.

It's easier for women to stop working for a few years while the kids are young and get a masters or other degree, while men, being the primary breadwinners do not have that option.

This is what we planned out in my house.

Men on the other hand continue to gain experience and end up still having a larger paycheck because they have the continuity at their workplace.

Well she does. I'd rather have her at home avoiding things like daycare.

OP, I am going to try logic but doubt it get's far with some.

I am slightly older than my wife (no pics) and have been with my employer longer. She's got a better education, but said education took longer. Then she bounced around a bit to find the "perfect job" thus agreeing to less pay to land said job... she makes less than I do.

There is no established pay gap because to many variables.

To each his own. We love our son's daycare and he seems to really like it, too. He definitely gets more stimulation there than I could consistently provide him with at home.

Let's talk law school and med school. There are a ton of women who graduate and never practice because they marry well and want to have babies.

I can't blame them. If your husband earns 300K and you want to be a stay at home mom, that's fine. But your degrees are wasted.

It's called bullshite degrees.

If every woman on earth has a doctorate in "Transgender Studies" and only one man on earth has an Engineering degree... every woman on earth SHOULD earn less than the one man. Period.

Supply and demand. Simple. Yet apparently impossible for the Liberal mind to grasp.

Define educated.

A degree in liberal arts or women's studies?

Yeah, those bring in the cash.

I don’t think women’s studies or transgender relation degrees are really the problem. The reason women make less than men overall despite being “better educated” is because most women get teaching degrees, nursing degrees and whatever kind of degree gets you into the HR field. None of those career fields top out at what a roughneck in the oil field makes.

Once again, it's an argument about career choices.

If you have a doctorate in library sciences and your husband has a BS in chemistry and works for a large pharmaceutical company, then that's a valid explanation of why he makes more despite being "less educated". These studies are so fricking dishonest and they know it yet they push this myth anyway.

This. My sister has a degree in general studies while I obtained a degree in chemistry from the same school. I make considerably more than she does. Its just a fact some occupations pay more and if women are lagging in higher paying fields they will make less.

A female with a Chemical Engineering degree is going to make more than a male with a Graduate degree in History. Despite the male being "better educated".

Are we calling bachelor's in Flute performance more "educated" than 4 critical IT certifications?

Just as an example. I'd like to know the methodology of what's being called "educated".

I don't believe in the wage gap myth, fwiw.
Good. Because it IS a myth.

I mostly thought it was interesting that more wives are better educated than husbands than vice versa.
Like I said. While it is definitely true that more women have degrees than men..........I suspect when you start controlling for economically viable degrees/education.........the "gap" suddenly disappears. I already know that men are FAR more likely to get the traditionally high paying degrees.

I mean. I'm sorry. You show me 10 women with liberal arts graduate degrees and 8 men with engineering undergrads..........and I think we can relatively easily explain the pay gap in those groups.

It's against the law to pay a woman less than a man for the same work.

So how is it that women are earning less than men?

I got the reason for the pay gap.

My penis.

My penis is making babies, making a woman quit her job.

Sorry, but my penis ain't sorry.

Getting a bullshite degree and going to school longer does not make one "more educated" in a productivity sense.

A man with a bachelors in business will make more than a woman with a masters in liberal arts.

Education doesn't equal compensation. You would think these liberal colleges would tell their students this since you know, they are so intelligent and all. It was always funny listening to this flaming liberal professor I had talking about the rising cost of higher education. It was some serious mental balance beam gymnastics. He blamed the white bankers and the "authorities" for taking advantage of students with loans , yet would constantly fluff up the importance of his doctorate in sociology and urge students to pursue that path as well. He never once looked at it from the perspective that maybe his doctorate isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
