Will The Democrats Eventually Usher In Totalitarianism?

In the next 20-30 years, is it possible the Democrat party will succeed in establishing at Totalitarian regime wherein thoughts, speech and actions that divert from their enforced beliefs are not tolerated within the legal framework they establish?

They will most certainly try, and many idiots are wanting for it to happen. There is a huge wing of the left that wants communism/socialism. They just don't understand the downsides to the system.

I expect them to do that the next time they get into the white house.
With the support and cover of our shitty American Pravda.. they will bring 1984 into reality.

I'm hoping the liberals take the party over again from the progressive totalitarians.

20 to 30 years? Absolutely not, IMHO.
It will take at least another 150 years for this great nation-state USA to be subverted and subordinated to the Global Government entity. At that point, we will probably have Totalitarianism because it will be seen by the Rulers as the most efficient method to keep their consolidated political power sustained.
Also, the kind of Internationalist Socialism that they envision really cannot be sustained without a strong Staat constantly watching the masses and suppressing dissenting voices.
Der Staat discourages dissenters by making examples of them via ruthless and severe punishment. We have examples today of what is happening to Outsiders and Dissenters like Trump and Kanye West.
Trump is a good example of what the apparatuses of Der Staat can do to oust a danger in their midst.
Kanye is a good example of how a dissenting voice from the masses can be targeted for punishment, not by Der Staat, but by other elements within the Indoctrinated Masses. Mind you, Der Staat is NOT punishing Kanye. Staat has wisely conditioned the masses to the extent that the masses themselves will punish those within their own ranks who dissent -- a sort of "Code Red Blanket Party" for an individual who refuses to conform himself to the ruling norm of the group -- this is what is happening to Kanye.
And his beating is not yet over. Kanye will continue to be punished until he yields and conforms himself in accord with the Diktat of the group.
As for Trump, the Rulers will never let him rest, not even after he dies. Trump has committed the unforgivable sin -- he has exposed the Democrats, the GOP Globalist Establishment, the Wash DC Globalist Establishment and the rest of his enemies to be the frauds that they are.

Most Democrats that I choose to surround myself with are actual liberals. They are fully aware that many progressive totalitarians in their party have hijacked the term "liberal" despite not being fully supportive of free speech, right to own guns, freedom of religioon, or freedom of expression.
Real liberals are disturbed by the direction of the Democratic Party today. There is a struggle between real liberals and contemporary progressives over control of the party.

You won't get a principled, comprehensive, thoughtful, factual and logical response, my friend, not by anyone who identifies Dem or Leftist. They are not conditioned and programmed to respond to stimuli in that manner. They are driven forth by hysteria and fanaticism, and they have been told to sweep away the White Supremacists' logic and reason.
Even now, you can observe many examples of people identifying as Dem or Left who no longer have the capability to clearly discern objective facts or even one objective FACT. They will create facts within their own mind formed from the template already there -- burned into their minds -- Leftist Indoctrination.

They were well on their way,
You had total collusion between the Obama Justice Dept, CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and the FBI to speed up the process. Hillary was going to be their leader and the country was going to be given to the globalists and the UN- only one thing happened- Trump's election bought the process to a screeching halt.

The pendulum swung pretty far left under Barry and they thought it would keep going. Their efforts to try and keep it from swinging back to the right will end up undercutting them and their support.
On top of that, I see limited success for them nationally due to their bench of candidates and the composition of their voter base.
All of their candidates I see have very narrow appeal as their main qualities are ethnicity or sex.
As far as their voter base goes, they have blacks, single women, many groups of Hispanics, and gays while eschewing blue collar whites and others who aren’t sufficiently victimized in their view.
If black voter outreach gets to the point where Republicans are getting 20-30% of the black vote, Dems are cooked because getting 90-95% of that vote plus high turnout of them was the secret to Barry’s success.
