Good read..

Not really

The author mostly just rambles opinion after opinion, ignores the fact that most of what he is saying is very debatable, but just continues building on them like they're already accepted facts.

Why do you look the other way when Democrat policies resulted in NY and NJ with over 33% of the entire country's Covid deaths?

Was it a result of "democratic policy" or just poor leadership at the local level. Cuomo fricked some shite up.

yeah it's exclusively a look at the federal level, which just highlights the left's desire to literally destroy the basis of the current American government. they want an incredibly strong federal government and are only discussing covid within this imaginary ideal, ignoring the reality that they hate (that we're a collection of 50 states + a federal government, and the states are largely responsible for covid-related issues like healthcare, testing, etc)

I’ll never understand why this is the case. It’s much easier for Democrats to achieve their utopia at the state level than to try and redefine the current American system. We have the perfect system in place for Democrats to do their thing in their states and Republicans to have their way in their states.

And yet, we’re still stuck with 51% trying to cram down their ideas on the 49% regardless who is in charge.

These things are one in the same.

Somehow your extremely comprehensive article doesn’t call out Cuomo

It's called cherry picking many events in retrospect in an attempt to fit a preconceived narrative.

The whole thing was utterly worthless on basically every level.

it's necessary for their philosophy

plus, it's really easy for lazy analysis b/c they can always compare us to Europe, which is heavily federal-level dominant

but then you have to have California explain why it's not Texas, when it's losing tens of thousands to Texas each year

It seems a lot of people intentionally avoid the most pertinent questions regarding the COVID19 pandemic........Why did China allow people they knew were likely infected to travel into Europe and America. As a follow up.....Why do the Dim Congress members get a pass on US pandemic preparedness......they should've been diligently working on preparing for the impending pandemic beginning in January but they were preoccupied with Shampeachment.

Either you did not read Ed Yong's imbecilic article title, "How the Pandemic Defeated America," or you have no clue as to WTF a "false equivalence" is.

In the face of US led pharmaceutical advances undertaken at speeds exceeding 4-fold anything ever seen on earth, US led testing advances, and treatment advances targeting the virus, coupled with astronomical (record) increases in existing home sales, new construction confidence levels, record highs in the NASDAQ, record highs in the S&P, record highs in the DJIA, not to mention a US-brokered major middle east normalization etc., etc., the statement the "Pandemic Defeated America" is atomically stupid.

As is any assertion that the above is some sort of "false equivalence".

So, are you going to be here, calling out the dems, when they try and end the filibuster?

There are a lot of things that I disagree the democrats on, so yes that's a possibility.

It doesn't call out any of the Democrat leaders. No criticism of Biden for calling the travel ban racist and xenophobic. No mention of Pelosi walking through China town encouraging others to do the same.

OP just complains about the Poly Board echo chamber, then post an article from the Atlantic which can be completely summarized with three words: Orange. Man. Bad.

I read it.....predictable drivel.

1. Blame man because we have pushed into wild animal habiats.

2.U.S. could have done more, bwhy we should have been more proactive.....we should have spent time in Jan/Feb creating test kits.... nevermind we were being lied to by China and the charatans at WHO

3. Blame Orange Man....he gutted CDC and bloated health agencies

Either we learn to live with this bug like we did with the flu after WEI and acheive a certain amount of herd immunity.....sooner rather than later, prople will die ...not from the virus alone, but from suicides, overdoses, other shite,
We will have widespread problems because we will have screwed large dwaths of the working and middle class, whose jobs do not entail doing Zoom from home.

Buuuut whatta I know, I'm not an "expert".

Simple.

Liberals with any brain at all know one base reality.

Their economic ideas CANNOT survive competition. As such, they know that as long as some states have less oppressive governments, people will leave their stupid liberal states. Also, it sort of puts a cap on just how fricking dumb they can get in their own states. Trust me. Liberals in NY and California STILL don't think their taxes are high enough!

Marxists/Socialists need to control the fed so that they can eliminate this problem.

It's election time. The people who have a minuscule grasp of politics will be here in droves until around Nov 15

While I agree that this is most likely the case, I don't see it being legitimate. Are all of these extremely left-leaning mega corporations going to flee to more conservative states? I don't see Facebook, Google, Amazon, Apple, etc starting to embrace conservative principles anytime soon.
