I'd like them both to lose. Zelensky is a dictator and a thief. Putin is a murderer and a thug.... it's ok to be ambivalent about both of them.

How do we benefit from NATO and how much does the benefit cost us?

.....and that's just this week. There has been a tradition of many on the board riding Putin's jock for years.

Zelenskyy who wants to cancel elections to remain in power

Zelenskyy isn't a saint, but laws were put in place in 2015 and 2019 before he came into power that allowed for the Ukrainian government to suspend elections if they were to become enthralled in a war like they are now thanks to Russia. It's a common law in many countries.

The fear is that, Ukraine has elections like normal, and Russia comes in and does what it has a long, documented history of doing, which is tampering and deciding elections that aren't theirs, after which Russia would install a puppet president and government in Ukraine that then gives Russia everything they're currently having to fight for.

Sure, it benefits Zelenskyy, but this is a perfect situation where just an incidence of an election could be hugely detrimental to their country with Russia right next door and in conflict.

Haven't elections been prohibited under martial law, by their constitution, since 2016, under a provision introduced by Poroshenko?

See above ^.

Zelenskyy may not be great. Ukraine having elections would be far worse for anyone not named Russia, especially Ukraine.

While I quoted your post, it wasn't a reply directed at you or based on any previous post of yours.

The statement you made is often made by others on this site who always support the expansion of NATO but are steadfastly against any country ever leaving NATO.

I strongly disagree with this, but that is not for this topic.

If this thread has shown anything, while many just hate Ukraine (which is fine), there are also more than just a select few that are very much pro-Russia and Putin.

Russia occupied and annexed Crimea in 2014 after it was a part of both the Ukranian SSR and independent Ukraine since 1954, and then it was Russia that crossed borders and invaded on February 24th of 2022, quickly making it all the way to Kyiv. They're clearly the aggressor in Ukraine for the last decade+, and have largely been an adversary of the United States, especially in the last several decades, not an ally. What am I missing?

The war is ending the only way it can. How did you miss that? Get over it.

Why does he only invade with democrats in power?

Crimea's parliament voted to become a part of Russia again. Crimea and Donbas have both been fighting Ukraine to separate for years. Ukraine was under investigation from the UN Human Rights Council for dropping cluster bombs on civilians. This whole war started from Russia involving its self in Ukraine's civil war by suppling Crimea and Donbas weapons. Sound familiar? How many rebel groups have the U.S. supplied to fight their governments? I have lost count.

Because Democrat leadership and their voters are weak-minded in this country.

That being said, they at least propped up Russia's opponent and levied tariffs against Russia. Trump has halted support (that's fine) and is currently giving Putin exactly what he wants in peace talks (not fine).

Sounds like Putin has us by the balls all around to me, especially now.
