I honestly think that the liberal mind has difficulty with nuance and I believe their information sources promote black and white thinking (literally and figuratively).
They have been Ukraine=Good Guy/Russia=Bad Guy since the beginning when they were putting blue and yellow flags in their bio.
If you say something like Russia's response to the threat of NATO expansion was rational from their point of view. They assume you are "pro-Putin" If you criticize Zelensky, then you are a puppet. If you say that the war was un-winnable from the moment it started, you are "surrendering".
I think the U.S. does have benefit in Russia not expanding its territory closer to allied nations. And I also think its past time to negotiate a settlement. Difficult for a non-pragmatic mind to grasp, apparently

This is the million dollar question that no one can answer easily.
The answer is propaganda.

I'll take Missing the Point for $100, Trebek.
It's not Vietnam today...or any other foreign engagement with our people on the ground. But it certainly would be if we made the mistake of sending them.
And if we are unwilling to do that, what is the point of dumping endless resources into it?
What does anyone have to gain from prolonging the war?

Ukraine has no potential to become another Vietnam. With U.S. and European support Russia’s expansionism can be thwarted in its tracks.

and there you have it
Is my post "tortured"?
Tell us where all the fricking money has gone to this point, then maybe we can consider more.

First answer this. How many French soldiers died in Vietnam?

I'm seeing a similarity. During Vietnam most of the American protesters were young people. Guys were concerned about getting drafted and females didn't want their boyfriends or sons going to war.
I've seen several man on the street interviews from Moscow. Most people support the war. But it looks like they're all females or older men.

Again, for what are you advocating? NATO troops? Air support?

It's not Vietnam today...

The American taxpayer is being stolen blind. President Trump was impeached to try and protect that little money laundering operation and God knows what else over there.
I hope those fat frick Vindmans answer for that one.

Out of all the foreign conflicts that you possibly could have chosen as a comparison, you chose Vietnam, the one where 500 American GIs per month were dying at one point.
Great job posting!!!
You fail to realize the end game for those advocating for this war is direct U.S. involvement; expect more than 500/month to die if this happens.

This is debatable.

are you aware that there was an entire decade (more than that really, we were involved when teh French were there too) of US involvement prior to combat troops arriving in Vietnam? Holy shite man. Try to have more than a fifth grade level understanding of historical events.

And you will be throwing taxpayer money in a hole and setting it on fire. Ukraine is not winning. In a war of attrition they just dont have enough bodies to get the job done. Russia has plenty of cannon fodder.
This war is 100% the fault of the US. We shouldnt keep trying to add countries that border Russia into NATO. We promised Russia that we wouldnt do that but as everyone knows out government lies its arse off.

You are stretching way too hard.
The Ukranian War is an indirect proxy war. There have been dozens on them (OP would've been better off naming any one of them). Vietnam evolved into an actual American war.
Zero active duty American soldiers have died in Urkaine. Casualties are how our history books measure and offer perspective on foreign conflicts.
Stop trying so hard.
