How did that happen, do you think?

Ukraine has no potential to become another Vietnam.
Ukraine isnt winning without more young men from abroad taking their place.
Its a war of attrition. The side who loses the most young men will lose. Youre cheering this on.
This is a proxy war, period.

Because it is a huge politician money laundering scheme.

The "Support" that the US has sent to the Ukraine is in the form of cash and various war materials and weapons. Any cash is siphoned off and split up between the globalists, some of whom are in our congress.
Ending the support of the Ukraine ends the flow of taxpayer cash back to their pockets.

The difference is that Ukraine is fighting a war for its continued national sovereignty, while Putin is fighting a war for unnecessary expansionism. At this point, it is a coin-flip as to whether Ukrainian moms or Russian moms will be the first say "enough!"
In that way, it IS a bit like Vietnam.

Doesnt seem very sovereign when the USA calls the shots as we have been for years.

It’s getting serious now. The Swiss are 10000% committed to sending 200 troops to monitor any peace agreement.

When this war is over there is potentially a lot of corruption that is going to come to light... In all honesty, I think this is the main reason Biden pushed the buttons here...

I'm seeing this stand with Ukraine shite everywhere. I got no love for Russia or Putin, but what does this "standing" actually include? An endless supply of money and weapons? Air support? Boots on the ground? Outside of forcibly removing the Red Army from Eastern Ukraine, I don't see Putin leaving behind what he captured at a great cost. So what is the expectation from the left and the EU?
So obviously there are no boots on the ground nor is anyone asking for that, so your post is already retarded comparing it to Vietnam.
I think pro Ukraine people (like myself) simply want equipment support provided just like how we gave Russia thousands of tanks during WWII that they never paid us back for.
Not to mention the equipment in question is a small fraction of our arsenal and only exists to fight Russia, so not sure what all the fuss is about.
We’ve essentially given Ukraine our hand me downs and they now have Russia resorting predominantly to 70 year old tanks. This has been a pretty resounding success for us.

Men
You cheerleaders dont realize what theyve already lost, there is no chance they win without foreign fighters.

Because we have been on a wartime economy since WW II and people want it that way. Lots of control over the media, culture and the economy.

to what end? it is a mathematical certainty that if Russia stays the course, eventually they will win. so your strategy would be to just keep throwing billions of dollars into the furnace hoping that someday Russia just stops?

The same reason fauxcervatives are trying to make Israel into another Vietnam. It's all about the money. Every politician that worries about Israel is either a Zionist or bought by AIPAC.
All of our politicians are whores and we need strict term limits.

Is there some list of ills this board is ok with for invasion?
Clearly the main point is that Ukraine has historically been a part of Russia, and the ethnic Russians in Ukraine are being oppressed. So their invasion is justified.
And yet...
Clearly the main point is that Texas has historically been a part of Mexico, and the ethnic Mexicans in Texas are being oppressed. So their invasion is justified.

We should probably be very happy that they weren’t given a chance to create a Ukrainian Gulf of Tonkin incident to drag us into it more with troops.

He is not saying that it IS Vietnam currently. He is asking why some people (allegedly) want it to BECOME Vietnam. The underlying premise is that our current trajectory will inevitably LEAD to "American boots on the ground," not least because Ukraine is running VERY short on manpower to fight its own war.
I don't really agree with his premise, but you clearly did not even understand it.

for the record i dont really agree with this premise either, but i dont think it's laughably absurd either, like some posters on this thread seem to think. a few certain decisions or twists go certain ways, and it's certainly plausible.
