John Bel Edwards is most definitely from Louisiana. He’s from a very old Tangipahoa Parish political family.

Louisiana's top down structure centralizes power in the hands of socialist populists who tend to steal from the people. Louisiana is essentially the northern-most Central American Banana-Republic.

Is it really that bad? Great food, beautiful scenery, and some of the friendliest people around.

Crime, corruption, education, individual freedom, economic freedom, and opportunity all rank among the lowest in the nation while also being extremely polluted and having an oppressive climate.

Yes, Louisiana is a very difficult place to live despite having so much (food, architecture, culture, natural resources) going for it.

First off, I think you mean “worst.” (Education)
Secondly, everyone will tell you that it’s the fault of the opposing party to their preferred party, but it’s really just bad government all around. All the decisions go through the capital (really the governor) which leads to pet projects and mistrust. Instead of visionary leaders, we get short-sighted score-keepers out for revenge. And as we jerk the wheel to the left and right every election, we get further behind the ships with a steadier hand communicating a clear vision. Rinse. Repeat.

Ok, so tell us all what policies the “republicans” implemented that led to the state being in its current situation.
