Why is Louisiana one of the worse states in the country?

I am born, raised, and live in Louisiana. Born and raised in the Greater New Orleans Metro and live in the BR metro area.
I know the state has a history of corruption in politics and there are wealthy people and then poor. A big income gap.
Why? Some of the finest young people want to leave the state for more opportunities

Because south Louisiana folks keep voting for south Louisiana folks

Democrat Corruption…. Been going on since well before I was even born, and not going away until you educate those who vote them in and keep them in, but then that’s the game isn’t it? Keep them uneducated and you can keep yourself in power.

Good ole boys club and politics have destroyed this state so few can profit off it.

It goes all the way back to the adherence to the French crown and loyalty to the authority.

Because people in Louisiana don’t understand the difference between worst and worse.

Yeah I agree it was actually the Democrats and their policies of preserving white supremacy in the Jim Crow era and in progressive movement that gave way to the Populist Partyy (Huey P)

What is one of the best states in the country?
Pick one and do a quick demographic, economic, political and historical comparison.

As long as you have a carrot to dangle, they’ll never put two and two together and realize they never get the carrot.

For example most of the research ranks places like Washington, Utah as great states.
Alabama, MS, Louisiana being amongst the bottom

JBE, LaToya, SWB... none of them are from this state. Try again.

Yes. Louisiana is filled with subservient rule followers.
WTF?

Because it's societal anvil is too damn heavy to be dragged across the finish line..and far too self-defeating to ever have true hope for the future or true turnaround. You can't wish change for a populace content to wallow in it's malaise.
La..a dead man walking.

May have something to do with the states education system leaving the population unable to differentiate between worse and worst.

Well, there's the scorching heat, high humidity, no hills, no seasons, mosquitoes everywhere. Education is the worst in the nation. Obesity is worst in the nation. Crime per capita is worst in the nation. Poverty everywhere.
But at least we have football and fishing.
