So your saying people do not spend time with you not because they can't understand you but because your hair is messy.
Gotcha!

Now that is a stance I can get behind.

Encouraging people to immigrate here by giving them massive government subsidies and services and (inevitably) the right to vote themselves more is like encouraging Single Mothers to have more money for more children via the same subsidies. Even water will take the easiest way to the sea.
It’s deportation or “fundamental change “. Period. And the inevitable conflict therein.
The only other option would be some sort of extraordinary socioeconomic change based on the massive effects of AI super technology. I could see a scenario wherein the former hard working Middle Class might get the same ‘pay’/relative affluence for substantially less work. Freedom as it were. The problem is that a lot of the non-working population can not handle freedom. For themselves and their peers they and their vision-less children become the problem. Go figure.
Lord come quickly.

Interesting point. I think of the millions of Americans who must stay busy working on something to keep their brain or mind occupied.
People forget the idle mind is the devil's playground. Regardless, millions of Americans would suffer greatly without something to do!!

I did not realize the government owned the billboard. What a galoot you are. However, I will not give any foreigner who is unwilling to speak English control over me in America.
The poster above was absolutely correct when he/she described this kind of thinking as childlike.
In order for us, as a society, to prohibit the use of any foreign language on a billboard, we, as a society, must give to government the power to control us to the extent that the government gets to decide what language we put on a billboard. We aren’t talking about banning porn on billboards, merely the use of a different language. If the government is given that kind of power to control our speech, billboards, and what kind of form of words we are permitted to put in type and publish on billboards, they control everything.
Your problem is that you do not understand that all institutions are run by people and people are corruptible, unreliable and sometimes crazy. People make churches, schools and governments imperfect. As soon as you give the institution of government total control over what you can write, type or say, those morons in those small positions of local power completely control you.
Good luck to you when you find out that utopia is hell.

So…government needs to threaten to fine billboard companies? Does this also mean getting rid of any billboards with Cajun French words in the Acadiana area?
Personally, if Big Daddy government is going to come in and do something like this, I’d rather them start with forcing Lamar to cut its Get Gordon billboards in half first.

I quit my Federal job and dumped my prosperous Business back when, Td, and went to the woods in our old camp by the river to see what was ‘there’ outside of the relatively mundane and hypnotically repetitive bubble that we Americans label “the American Dream “. Wife, son, friends, everything. Selfish idiot but desperate and sincere. I knew there had to be ‘more’. Tough deal and but for the Lord’s mercy and guidance I wouldn’t be here.
Doing is a means to an end. Assuming that “the pursuit of happiness “ is the end, then maybe we Americans should question both the end and the means in acquiring the happiness we desire. We may not see the forest for the trees’.
One thing is for sure, for a new thing to happen the old thing must go away. Especially in the Spirit (happiness is a feeling) and Vision realm which separates the sublime from the mundane. This process is painful. And I suspect that it will only indeed “come in the clouds”. Clouds of destruction, sadly so.
The above assessment is not fatalistic or cynical, but hopeful and positive. None would watch a boring movie where the good guy was not challenged. We are all ‘stars’ in our own drama; thank the Good Lord.
It’s coming.

How ignorant can someone be to believe you can not assimilate yet have a cohesive society. I do not believe you to be ignorant.
The main ingredient for assimilation is communication. If the USA is an English speaking country, then learn the language. Without assimilation we are doomed.

By having it written, typed, or said in English, one can expect more assimilation. The government will only say it must be in English. The "assimilator" can still write, type, or say what they want as long as it is in English.
But I do like your women. The hispanics are very friendly indeed.

What I like the most while traveling, legally and certainly not living, in another country is the feeling of confusion merged with the excitement of witnessing a different culture.
However, living in my own country in which I was born is much more comfortable due to its certain characteristic or culture of which I am extremely familiar.
I am extremely happy for our inalienable rights that are preserved in our Constitution. Hopefully, far more will take a stand against those unwilling to assimilate!!

Well, that’s a problem no other country in the world has.
Apparently they do... otherwise the billboards would be in English, and the foreign born people would be able to read and understand said billboards.
Also.. McDonalds and other fast food restaurants wouldn't have a Spanish option on all their touchscreen order stations.
