I read Louisiana is one of only a few states that levy an inventory tax? That’s pretty crazy to me. We are taxing goods that haven’t even been sold and then taxing them again once they are purchased. What a backwards system. No wonder dems support it and want their ilk to vote no.

Doubtful, this group is notoriously lazy, hence the cheating required to win elections.

if the polling places aren’t being monitored it does no good. This is where our system is vulnerable and really only in certain voting precincts.
Early voting is not held at the regular voting precincts, at least in EBR.

For example, in East Baton Rouge Parish there are only 5 locations for early voting:

1) MOTOR VEHICLE BLDG
BAKER

2) FIRE STATION BLDG
11010 COURSEY BLVD
BATON ROUGE

3) LOUISIANA STATE ARCHIVES BLDG
3851 ESSEN LANE
BATON ROUGE

4) CENTRAL BRANCH LIBRARY
11260 JOOR ROAD
BATON ROUGE

5) BATON ROUGE CITY HALL
BATON ROUGE

When I vote early I use the State Archives Building on Essen Lane and it appears to me the voter identification process is strict.

You have to show your voter ID at the door of the building before you can even enter the room where the voting machines are.

Then when you approach the line of voting machines a person again asks for your ID card and then he walks you to the voting machine for your precinct.

In Orleans Parish there are only 4 early voting locations.

This link shows the early voting locations for each parish: Sec of State's early voting website

This passes for journalism in 2026. Not a hint of dishonesty.
Yeah, I saw that, too.

Not a single mention the reason Louisiana's congressional districts are being redrawn is because the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled the current congressional districts are unconstitutionally gerrymandered based on race.

Amendment 1: allows the legislature to gut state civil service

Amendment 2: allows for the creation of an independent school district for the City kf St. George

Amendment 3: shuffles some different fund sources to pay down teacher retirement systems debt

Amendment 4: abolishes the inventory tax and inventory tax credit scheme

Amendment 5: raises the mandatory retirement age for judges from 70 to 75.

Hard no on Amendment 5, hard yes on Amendments 2 and 4, soft yes on Amendment 3, conflicted on Amendment 1.

I’m a no on the increasing age requirement for mandatory judicial retirements bc the Brothers Johnson tyranny of the 19th JDC needs to end.

Democrats are voting NO on all of them. So let them do they need to do.

Yes, people in Louisiana vote against lowering taxes.

Very smart people here.

Not really.

But I do lay awake most nights trying to think of new & creative ways to exacerbate (Stop giggling, Joey!) your chronic paranoia.

Mission accomplished!!

The abolition of inventory tax would be a great thing for my business.

Do you not fill out the R-10610 every year and get all of it back already?

I'll never understand the incentive to be so adamantly opposed to a group of people being able to address the educational opportunities for their children.

To hell with those kids, right?

voting “no” is a perfect way to express your anger.

Voting "No" on these particular proposed amendments also suggests that the voter has read and considered them.

Please quote anything I've posted in this thread which indicates I am "adamantly opposed to a group of people being able to address the educational opportunities for their children..."

If you can't do that it just proves my aforementioned statement about your extreme paranoia problem.

I see 1-2 as a yes and 3 as a no but will definitely need to check the actual wording as them bastards are slippery, even when going in dry

I wasn’t referring to this thread…

My point is accurate. It takes a real POS to put his perceived best interests above a lawful attempt to improve education.
