Why don’t Muslims realize they need a reformation?

The religion as a whole is incredibly violent, they are killing Christians at an absolutely astronomical rate, it doesn’t take genius to realize that they need to be saved from their own intolerance and dogmatism.

Some do.
They get their heads chopped off in the Middle East, prosecuted for hate speech in Europe, and branded as bigots by the SPLC on the US.

Islam and the West have been at war for 1400 years.
The West has changed, Islam hasn't.
The West has changed, Islam hasn't.

But why don’t the “sensible Muslims” push for this, their religion is a fricking stain on humanity.

They probably went through the pros and cons and decided killing everybody who wouldn’t follow the rules was easier than changing the rules.

It’s hard to get away from your religions’s text. For them to not kill infidels would be the same as Christians abandoning the commands of loving God and loving others.

Or they just followed what their Quran told them to do, slaughter non believers

Saying “moderate Muslim” is like saying “moderate Nazi”.
It all springs forth from the same poisoned well.

Explain how that’s funny, I’m looking to forward to hearing your explanation

Because you can only make them change a herd think like, once every thousand years or so.

Exactly, if a Muslim is a true follower, he is a murderer, the Quran explicitly says to exterminate non believers

Religion is a political tool to control AND organize (economically and militarily) mass differing populations under a common system. The revolutions of the people haven't done it. Until enough of the population chooses western conveniences over backward systems there will be no change.

I don’t think Muslims will ever choose western ways, unless they are forced

A Reformation in Islam would be to take it back to Muhammad the war lord. What you want is for Islam to liberalize.

Arguably, the religion had a reformation from the middle of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century, as you had specifically anti-colonial versions arise, while you also had what was called Islamic Modernism, which eventually lost out to hardliners. You can pair this with what's called the Islamic Revival, which has been a renewal of interest in the faith, spurred on by the failure of secular states to avoid certain pitfalls, such as corruption and authoritarianism. It has been argued that the religion, as its now practiced, is functionally much different than it how it was practiced for most of its history. Some of this is technological, while other aspects of this change is political.
For example, the veneration of saints in Classical Sunni Islam has a very robust history, but the Wahhabis reject it, as it was a practice developed due to the distance to Mecca, and there was no strict Quranic basis for it. That technically is a reform, and from what I gather, the veneration of saints isn't as strong in Islam as it once was. Yet it has a strong cultural history, and the practice is older than the Wahhabi sect itself. The Sufi orders were the nodes of resistance in many places, and thus were targeted by colonizers, which weakened them, if not destroyed them.
I'd suggest there is going to be a massive backlash to the Islamic revival, as the governance that has arisen isn't better than the versions that arose during the secular era. We've seen some evidence of that backlash, in the form of Arab Spring, but I think it's only the beginning.
