She is in favor of the free movement of students. Rather than based on demographics.

Because she's leading one of the most important seats related to our future as a nation, and is incredibly under qualified, to the point of idiocy.

Some legitimate and some not so much:
Legitimate
- She typifies a hell of a lot of what liberals (and even some conservatives, like me) dislike about Republican Party perhaps more than anything else: they love to appoint insiders who don't have a particularly demonstrated expertise or knowledge in certain arenas to important positions because they were loaded and/or born into the right families
- All that doubles up for DeVos because her family wealth comes from a somewhat dubious source (and her brother's is absolutely shady as fricking hell)
Illegitimate
- She is trying to de-fang the DoE; I would have hoped that any reasonable conservative (and perhaps even some more conservative Dems) would have reeled back some of the Title IX bull shite
- She is also trying to undermine the death grip that teachers' unions have on our public education system; I don't necessarily agree with her motivations or her methods, but it is something that needs to happen

Because Betsy Devos shares our hate for title IX, teachers unions, lack of due process on college campuses, and a lot of public education systems in this country.
She also shares our love for school choice, charter/private schools and decentralizing power away from federal department of education back to the states where it belongs.
And she's rich and DGAF who she pisses off as she's pretty much set for life so Trump by extension is free to do as he pleases on education topics.
