But for the people who do tend to follow and watch soccer. They seem to be much more left wing
No.

Because soccer isn't a part of American culture. Leftists hate American culture.
It's not very leftist pretty much anywhere else in the world.

It's like hockey without the fighting and hockey is boring enough with the fighting.

My random observations about soccer in America:
a. It's popular with suburban housewives because it's safe.
b. Having your child play ONLY soccer when young is a bad idea because they don't learn the hand-eye skills that serve them in adult hobbies like golf and tennis.
c. A tiny fraction of kids who play soccer at 5-10 y.o. continue to play in HS. They lose interest.
d. Female soccer is frowned upon in most countries. That's why the US does so well in international soccer.

My kids play and I dont think there is a single liberal parent on any of their teams. With that said, soccer is gay and there is probbaly no hope for my children.
^^^^^^
My daughter is going D-2 in it next year . The culture is weird to me (a dirt road baw) but not really liberal politically.

I've been to several Moccasins games in Monroe and a couple of college games in CO and it is better in person. Everything's better with beer.

Isn't soccer associated with nationalism and more conservative politics in Europe?
Sure, but it’s their sport. It’s not our sport. That’s like saying it’s weird that “conservatives” in China back the CCP when they are the enemy of conservatives here

I get that. I think its funny that so many liberals over here love it and think it worldly or whatever - yet in its native land it is associated more with what these Americans oppose.

European culture influence on one of the most popular sports in Europe. Doesn't mean soccer is bad just because Europeans and leftists tend to like it. Don't confuse Correlation with Causation.

Some really good points here. I love soccer, but have grown to hate USMNT fans with a passion, mainly because the most vocal are Antifa neckeard queers. European club teams are generally neutral with a mix of both a right wing and left wing element (most English teams PSG, Real Madrid), but you have some good fanbases (Lazio in Italy, Olympique Lyonnais in France, Hamburg SV in Germany, Glasgow Rangers, Atletico Madrid) to balance out the left wing pedoscum like Celtic, St. Pauli, or Olympique Marseilles.

Here’s my boomer take: Only communists, euro trash and third world cesspools like soccer.

Nice post (although I'm not sure I'd necessarily call Lazio fans "good"
).
The left wing element at Celtic might be the most disappointing since many of their traditional supporters don't like it, and the club had done a lot over the years to eliminate radical political stuff at Celtic Park, yet they still allow those Green Brigade fricks to waive Palestine and BLM flags.

Gays are liberal.
Soccer is gay.
So, soccer is liberal.

One doesn't have to be an insufferable leftist to love trains.
