Why do libs hate guns?

one reason and one reason only: they were brainwashed to hate them.

Easily 1. Look at the number of shootings in the country. It’s terrifying. It’s way too easy to access a gun in most parts of this country.

Honestly I think its because they act predominantly on feelings rather than logic.

It's more about punishing and spiting their political opposition

Only if you’re irrational. You have better odds at wining the lottery, than being a victim of a mass shooting.

I think it's partially cultural bigotry.

I'm not a gun owner myself, but I know a TON of them. Though I don't personally find their fascination with firearms all that interesting, I know and respect the guys that do. I know first hand that these men and women are NOT the problem, and even though I have no interest in going to shoot guns with them on the weekend I don't care if they want to own 100+ guns a piece. They're not going to break any laws with them...ever.

The problem seems to be far too many on the left simply do not know anyone who's a gun owner, and their imagination of what "those people" are like runs wild. The fact that they think it's weird (and I kind of agree) is enough to lump all gun owners into the same category of being not worthy of trust. They are all "those people" with whom they think they share nothing in common. It's super easy to trample on the rights of people you think are not worthy of having them, isn't it?

It's also why regular run of the mill NRA type gun owners are the target of most of these laws and not gang members or the typical mass shooter types who are the ones committing most of the murders in the country. As much as anything else, it's easier to target the political opposition...whether they are a real threat or not.

Probably because, at their heart, they are generally idealists. And, ideally, the world would be a better place if we didn't need guns.

Because they are a bunch of tyrants.

The right to bear arms is the second of all the amendments in the constitution for a reason, and that is to prevent tyranny as well as possible. The American Revolution happened, because the citizenry was armed. The second amendment places the citizens on a more level playing field with the government, in order that there would be accountability.

Is it a coincidence that AR’s are used in every single mass killing in America? To me, they are all connected, and sanctioned. Leftists want the AR’s first and foremost, because they are one of the few weapons available that level the playing field between the government and the people.
