Why do gays and women vote predominantly for the party that supports the middle east?
You know the same sort of analysis that any sensible person would perform.
I HATE a certain percentage of GOP thought, but I hate a LARGER percentage of Dem thought. Thus, I almost always vote GOP. I also roundly criticize the bad elements of GOP or Dem thought. That is how adults address these issues.

quote:the problem with your argument is if this was the case their would be more even numbers of gays and women for both parties. The reason they overwhelmingly vote dem is because they believe they are voting for their own equality but what they dont understand is the majority of Republicans dont have anything against equal rights for women or gays, and the dems are supporting Islamic states in the middle east with funding and trade agreements, way more than the right side of the aisle

quote:bro I'm a 22 y/o conservative frat boy o could give a frick less what you put your dick inside. Same goes for 90% of the young Republicans I know. My best friend has 2 dads but he is as maga as they come. Ya know why? Because he likes guns, he likes capitalism, and he likes America to be for Americans, of all colors and orientations. Another good friend of mine is a legal immigrant from Africa. But I'm some evil conservative how could I have a black friend and an Asian friend adopted by 2 gay dudes??! Times have changed it's not the 60s anymore none of the Republicans I know really give a frick about those types of social issues and I live in the fricking bible belt. The only social issues that most conservatives I know still feel strongly about is abortion and I could see why I'm on the fence their personally. And my original point had nothing to do with immigration but with all of the trade deals, funding, allowing them to create nuclear weapons, and support of Palestine that the democratic party has shown recently. But thanks for reminding me that liberals also want open fricking borders for them to come in by the thousands and have our rape numbers increase! And dont say its bullshite you cant even argue it because you've seen what's happened in sweden
Republican Party's historical opposition of gay people, their marriages, and their fight for acceptance

Since when did gay people and women start voting Trump/Republican? This is news to me. The Democrats are vehemently opposed to the recent murders and brutality.
Yeah, never mind the flying robots and Libya.
This is why anyone reasonably wise doesn’t take the fake arse hypocritical left seriously.

Because they hate christianity. That’s the common value that binds most of these groups like feminists, gays, and Islam together.

Why do American Jews? It makes no sense.

For one my politics aren't defined by my sexuality. Even if they were though, Democrats have a better track record when it comes to gay rights (generally speaking). How gays are treated in each country of the Middle East is unfortunate, but there are far more practical things to consider when determining how and to what extent we get involved in issues over there.

But here's the deal, anyone with a functioning brain should be able to tell that a capatalost free market economy is better than what the dems are pushing, and the days of social injustice for gays is in the past why not vote for the sane party? They want to let all the muslims I'm who would gladly see you killed or in prisoned because thats more votes for them

It sounds like we just have different opinions. I dropped in just to say as a gay man, I don't look at our actions in the Middle East through the lens of gay rights.

I just feel that lots of gay people tend to believe other democratic rhetoric after indoctrinating themselves because of the false belief that the democratic party is their to support them and the Republican party is against them (which just isnt true anymore)

Why aren't you taking a stand to go fight for your brethren? Or are you comfortable being gay in the US while other gays suffer?
People like you don't give two fricks about the plight of gays until it affects you personally.
You = fraud AF

Unfortunately, the preponderance of other gay guys and lesbians I know are essentially single issue voters. They "care" about other issues of course, but gay rights are the defacto number one for many and it drives them politically.
It's funny though, at least in the circles I run in, there are more than a few silent MAGays (as we call ourselves) who support Trump but are terrified to voice or show any support for him for fear of reprisal from the vast majority of gays. It's sort of a Fight Club mentality for them. First rule? Don't talk about Fight Club.
I said frick it to that long ago. People know where I stand on that shite. I don't get challenged on it too much anymore because I'll hold my ground, but it took me a while to get there.
And when I do get challenged on my views, my trump card is that the LGBT community will launch crusades to protect diversity of appearance and adherence to their world view, but that defense of diversity stops absolutely at diversity of thought.

while the Republican party is the home of Evangelicals, they simply don't have the power overturn a SCOTUS ruling alone -- it's a difficult process that would require all Republicans and some Democrats to join, and that's just not happening. With something like gay marriage, I don't even think all Republicans would join any effort to overturn the SCOTUS ruling. Enough of them have learned it's a losing issue for them.
Another aspect is evangelicals aren't 100% anti-gay and that number falls every year (thankfully). And among those who are, fewer and fewer are willing to stake a political position on it anymore (again, thankfully).
