Why do dems think it’s fair that the top 1% pays more tax than bottom 90% combined

Don’t you embrace equality?

Just trying to figure out your stance on this.

Maybe because they feel like the top 1% can afford it?

I'm not making a stance on what is fair.

I do have a question, because I don't know the answer. Is the top 1% of earners taking in more than the bottom 90%? If so, is the level of taxes they're paying on par with that, or more, or less? If they aren't taking in more income than the bottom 90%, then this is a very good question.

Because they should pay their fair share! They should be like Bernie - trash the rich while owning 3 homes

Because crusty old white men deserve to pay more. Obviously.

Imagine how much the 1% would pay if they didn't get regulations and loopholes in their favor.

Well, everyone except themselves

If you want to make trickle down actually work for most then tax the rich but offers deductions for creating jobs, building businesses, and putting that money back into the economy rather than just hoping real hard the tax cuts will work their way down somehow.

If only the top 1% can afford it, we don’t have a government of the people.

If we are legislating feelings, I feel as though I shouldn't pay taxes that go toward welfare or healthcare for able bodied adults who don't have jobs or have kids they can't afford. That should be on their families to handle, not me.

Lets go ahead and make that a law while we are at it since feelings are so important and all. Don't invalidate my feelings.

It's almost like that is the point of capital markets to do all those exact functions efficiently. Incredible leap, I know.

So basically the Dem argument of the "rich" not paying their "fair share" is BS, correct?

Because they have more wealth than the bottom 90% and can afford it.

Loser mentality. Again, so the argument that the rich isn't paying their fair share is BS?

Not the purpose of taxes. Taxes are for funding the government equitably for shared benefit. We don’t do that however. We depend on a slim minority to fund he whole thing.

I believe your feelings are valid and more realistic than a tranny feeling they were born with the wrong parts.

We don’t tax wealth. For good reasons. Name a country that confiscated wealth and became more prosperous.

Secondly he “can afford it” is bunk. If a “rich” person has 5 TVs is it acceptable to break into his house because he still has 4 left?

The “can afford it” really only amounts to “we can get away with it” because minority are much easier to exploit than large voting groups. You should be ashamed of holding that perspective as acceptable.
