I take way too much ibuprofen. I’m thinking about just switching to not being a huge pussy.
All of a sudden about 4 months ago I started getting tension headaches on the left side. The only thing that relieves it is drinking or ibuprofen. I just deal with the headache unless it keeps me from sleeping then I will take a couple of Advil.

I was thinking Oxycodone or maybe just Roxies.

I guess we are going to have to switch to Codeine.
The doctor prescribed codeine to me once for a cough. God, I loved it.

The opium derivatives are natural. Those may actually be safer than anything as long as you don't take them often enough to create dependency.

I'm lucky. I hardly ever have to take anything. But, a dentist told me once that Ibuprofen "deadens the nerve" and that's why she recommended it.
I've found it to be very effective.

Pregnant in 1992, 1997 and 2001. No ibuprofen then either. Tylenol and that was it. I took it when I couldn’t stand a headache or whatever anymore. But I’m still like that so ..

All the libtards will be eating Tylenol in protest

When I’ve got a cough that won’t go away (this sucks bad) I actually tell them I’m drug seeking and want codeine. This may be once every two or three years.
By the time I get to my doctor I’ve tried everything and nothing works.

quote:i try to avoid both but after i passed my 2nd kidney stone and they examined it, the dr said i should avoid ibuprofen.
Why Can't They Just Switch to Ibuprofen?
having said that, i just tossed my costco bottle of acetaminophen in the trash.
i should probably toss the ibuprofen as well but sometimes you just need a pain killer.

Truth is that people are super quick to use pain relievers in general. No need to give pain reliever for low grade fevers yet people start giving ibuprofen and Tylenol as soon as fever starts.
Son’s pediatrician said he doesn’t consider it a fever till over 101.

Dependency is typically caused by a lot of factors that have nothing to do with dosage/frequency.
Individual body chemistry
Personality-Psychological disorders (specifically relating to obsession and compulsions)
Psychological trauma
Social stressors (especially economic stressors)
Now when dosage/frequency CAN come into play is a situation where physical trauma is constant (wrestling, football, etc.). Your brain rewires your opioid receptors where you need more for the same effects. If you keep causing physical trauma on your body you're going to seek out medicine to combat it. If you're abusing opioids, you're going to need more and more to deal with pain.

Tylenol is an NSAID but has a different path it works on. It's great for things like a root canal or some other kind of minor outpatient surgery. If you use it with Ibuprophen, it can work really well and you really won't need opiates/opioids.

I prefer Ibuprofen, Advil all the way.

Ok. I also know people who are quick to give it at low grade fever bc it relieves some of the discomfort and makes the baby less fussy.

Even Tylenol, .........., is bad for your liver.
I have heard that many times. I have heard technically it should have never been approved by the FDA however $$$ makes things get approved. wink wink.

It's good stuff, taken as seldom as possible. But obviously not for pregnant women or babies.
You'd think they would've come up with something safer for pregnant women and babies by now.
