Why can’t the Right create successful alternatives to the Left’s Twitter, youtube, etc?

The Left can’t meme but apparently the Right can’t succesful media.

True competition is the response to the Left’s censoring, but the Right is stuck in neutral. Why is that?

Left didn’t make Youtube, they bought it.

Edit: lol being downvoted for literally pointing out that Google didn’t make but bought YouTube for 1.65 billion dollars. You guys need a chromosome exam.

The only media I used in depth is youtube. Most of my friends are conservative and don't really use facebook or Twitter. The most used app I would say in my circle of people ages 28-33 is instagram and its usually just pictures showing everyone how vain they are.

Edit: I have never once watched a full Alex Jones video.

Instagram is the best because it's been mostly "untouched"

I believe I read something about Gab being censored by their domain. They were told to take posts down or they would be shut down. I don’t know a whole lot about all of that so maybe someone else here does. I don’t know how the domains are owned/controlled but if every anti twitter platform that comes out is unable to stay open without being heavily censored that sounds pretty bad.

Because all of these platforms run on self-improving algorithms. The more data they acquire, the better their algorithms are at matching the material they have to what their users want, which brings in more customers, which generates more data, etc, etc, etc.

The economic term for it is a Network Good. The larger of a network the good is connected to, the more effective and desireable the good becomes. Because of this, network goods are prime candidates to become monopoly markets. It’s almost impossible for a new, equivelant platform to catch up to the first mover to hit a critical mass of users.

It's easier to tell a lie than it is the truth.

They could but they'd probably eventually do the same and censor left wing content they disagree with

45 percent of republicans think the government should be able to shut down news media they disagree with. not just censor, mind you, but shut down.

The point of the censorship isn’t visibility or lackthereof but it’s the ability of the left to decide for people what is worthy of viewership or not. The beauty of the internet was the democratization of information and art. The people were left to decide what was worth their time and attention and corporate influence was minimal. This appears to be changing which is scary for many reasons and portends a slippery slope back to prepackaged and corporate approved content.

A poll exclusive to the "Daily Beast." Forgive me for being skeptical.

Normally I don’t converse with arse holes who support pedophilia...so don’t take this as me engaging with you...I was just hoping you had a link to this claim.

I feel like you’re missing the point of this thread. The beauty of technology and the internet is that the right can create their own channels. You can make an app and put whatever content on it that you want. You can’t expect someone else’s product to be completely open.

It’s funny because conservatives supported the repeal of net neutrality because they don’t want the government policing the internet even at a very high level. What exactly do you want now?

Then get 1.65 billion dollars and buy it back so mark dice can tell you how to think for the day.
