The tv told them McMansions, SUVs, and gigantic TVs are way more fulfilling.

Uhhh, Ok I'll wade into this one...although its crazy it needs to be answered.

I'm 41, no kids, never married, high rate of income, I work 5 months a year and take pretty good care of myself.

- I've had to see and hear how miserable all of my married friends are on a daily basis.
-I've had to see and hear all the horror stories and vanished 401k's due to divorce.
-I enjoy peace and quite in my home.
-I enjoy going when I want, where I want and doing what I want. And my current girlfriend knows while I respect her, not to try to put a leash on my.
-Before I met her I'd spend 6 months a year bouncing around Eastern Europe, South American, Mexico, Miami and Charleston.
-I enjoy new, hot arse and I don't pay for it.
-I enjoy it when new, hot arse leaves and I can do what I want.
-I don't want screaming in my ear
-I don't want sleep deprivation
-I don't enjoy having to to clean up shite

I don't vote on posts, but ultimately that poster sounds like he has a sad life.

For me and my wife it is a simple answer we wanted our careers and education established, along with paid off vehicles and home so that there was as much financial security as possible. We had our first child after being married for 10 years and are looking forward to our second. I want to make sure our children have as many chances to succeed as possible. In today's world that means being able to allow them to compete and perform in their interests and activities which means dollars. Of course there is always uncertainty especially in these times but we have made every effort to minimize our childrens exposure to that as much as possible.

Truth plus it is the trend.

I see many mixed couples here in North Alabama. It is like black guys are too good for black women. Even commercials are showing mixed couples with kids making it socially accepted.
