We don't need ICBMs or long-range bombers to protect our familes, homes, communities, and collectively the nation, from anything. However, we do need rifles, pistols and machineguns. That's the floor for "right to keep and bear arms."

So then the government will never be your enemy? Is that what you're saying? Because if you are, then we can actually get back to the discussion we are supposed to be having.

Because I like them.

And when the shite hits the fan eventually, my family will be well armed... Even if the shite hits the fan in a couple generations, my progeny will have good shite.

How do they?

You brought the families of the shooting victims into this. Now you don't want to play?

A family AGONIZES over that kid's choices, loss of potential, health problems and, potentially death upon overdose. I'm as libertarian as the next cat, but to pretend that isn't a harm to the family and society is literally blind to the issue.

So, you just expect everything to go as planned and if not, oh well, right?

Go tell that to the parents of the kids in Santa Fe and Parkland. Tell that the kids and spouses of the people in Vegas.

The Old emotional appeal

Why have school shootings jumped in the past 25 years?

Stating they happened isn't a rant.

I've already stated that I'm open to that as long as it's done with due process. Not like this no-fly list bullshite.

Okay, then feel free to articulate a scenario on how your due process would go. Perhaps you and I agree a lot more than our discussion indicates.

So, two responses almost back to back implying the kind of paranoia and fear spoken about in the posted article? Got it.

You think this isn't coming to a head eventually? Naive.

Maybe, maybe not. But resistance will be effective enough as long as we have rifles, pistols and machineguns.

My evidence? The VC and Al-Queda. Plus we will have massive numbers advantage.

No, Rob, it's in response to that not being a disqualifier from owning a gun.
That's fine and all but, it's kind of a red herring.

Seems if you want to talk about gun violence, you should probably stick to shite that actually matters

Well then what's your solution to the kid shooting heroin into his veins?

hat isn't a harm to the family and society is literally blind to the issue.

It literally is zero harm to society if that kids shoots up and is dead in ten minutes. It's a tragedy, but it was a choice that kid made.

Now, tell me the choice those kids in Santa Fe made.

He doesn't want to talk about gun violence. If we were, we would be talking about young black men with guns in Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, L.A., Atlanta, Miami, etc.

He wants to talk about gun control - because white people are stockpiling guns.

That's your comparison to the United States government / military?

It was, at the very least, irrelevant and merely used to dodge the fact I stated.

Guy has been acting erratically at work, school, whatever. Has breakdown, or issues threats, etc. Medical professionals think he may be a threat to society. Case is presented to a judge. Judge makes a ruling. Ruling can be revisited after x amount of time.

I'm okay with legalizing it all - just with eyes open.

Tell that to his family.

You people have lost your minds.

The govt is going to launch an ICBM on a rebellion. How would that even work?

Interesting

Russia had ICBMs and yet, we have the Balkan states.

Me think you need to grow some logic.

All that effort to paint whites with guns as racist, meanwhile black youths are being killed in horrifying numbers by other black youths.

That's what red flag laws are for and they are a step in the right direction, but there was opposition to those in the last thread discussion as well. Ask ShortyRob.

Do you know EBRP had 30 more murders last year than Oakland?
