Our government is not nearly as responsive to voter wishes as I would like them to be, but we certainly have a voice. All around the world democracies are responding to the wishes of their voters. Sometimes it is not the wishes of the majority, instead it is those of a more passionate minority. But the politicians have their noses to the wind of public sentiment because they want to be reelected.

The average member of Congress doesn’t give a rats arse about “public sentiment “ ….. they’re in it for the power and/or money.
