Does "no new wars" to you mean we wouldn't defend ourselves if invaded?

Of course not.

So there is nuance there. If we literally had no intention to fight any wars then we'd disband our military.

Now that we've established wars are on the table, what was Trump stance on Iran?

Even within that paradigm the point is that the MAGA side should be a better option

This isn't a discussion about MAGA v DSA

It's MAGA v other anti-lefr options

You think not liking tariffs or a foreign war make people less conservative? Maybe you forgot what the word means.

Please tell us exactly what the other options are. How many tickets have a viable 3rd party candidate with a chance of winning?

Candidate Trump kept telling me that Kamala would have us in a war in Iran in one year if elected.

That's exactly why they would wipe their asses with it. It means nothing to them. You don't understand what we are up against at all by constantly feeling protected by a piece of paper. So clueless about the opposition but que the "muh you are the left" nonsense

So they'll wipe their asses with the existing laws, but your new laws come with automatic weapons to defend them?

That's not how a conservative is defined.

Its how you defined it.

quote:

Protecting the individual liberties of the American citizens is the purpose of government.

It is A purpose. A single part of the system created when the Articles of Confederation was replaced.

quote:

Tariffs should be about the only tax we have. However, it IS A TAX. And if you just add tariffs on existing taxes, then all you've done is add more taxes. There is a huge difference between being one of the only taxes to being an additional tax.

Well, we have always had them along with other taxes in some form or another.

quote:

And fighting with party and members doesn't mean shite here, I'm guessing you were desperate to hit a 3rd point.

Oh but it does when it is mentioned as an issue against Trump as if this has never happened before.

You and a few more are angry because Trump calls out GOP house and Senate members and seeks to replace the deadwood. People like Massie.

The petro dollar you mentioned is the line of attack used by socialists. People like Michael Hudson, Richard Wolff, and more....

Maybe you need to clarify what you believe a conservative is because as of now, you are blending ideas from several factions into what it is.

For me, im going with history and beliefs. This nation has been here for 250 years.

Conservatives do not believe in no gov. Our founding fathers did not believe in no gov. Historically they have not been anti tariff. Even Reagan. They have never been anti military.... even Reagan.

Where all of that comes from is literally Marxist and Libertarian attacks on our system.

Libertarians and marxists want a free flow of people. Conservatives do not. Etc etc.

Income tax didn't exist until 1913. And even then it didn't apply to wages, only gains from investments. "Income" had a different meaning when those laws were passed.

It was also supposed to be temporary.

It doesn't change the fact Trump adding them is adding a tax on Americans.

The petro dollar is a fact.

So is the banking cartel that took over the US economically in 1913 and needs the petro dollar in order to maintain a backing.

If you allow the socialists to be correct on an issue, it's your fault. However, I don't think that is the case because a central bank is a requirement for socialism as it's the main force when it comes to wealth distribution.

It has an actual platform. You mention Massie, who has nearly a 100% score on conservative issues.

This is all nonsense.

Conservatives aren't against tariffs, they are against new taxes. Tariffs are a tax and it's being used to help pay for the EXTREME amounts of government spending.

I am very much pro military. I am very much against using them to fight foreign wars for the benefit of a banking cartel and foreign nations. The best way to support the troops is to use them for defense and bring them home.

Claiming you can only be pro military by wanting to bomb the world is dishonest and if we were in person I'd have a strong desire to throat punch you.

Conservatism is a bs movement that Buckley came up with to justify their cold war bs.

It's crazy we are here after you started out claiming:

quote:

You can't be conservative and libertarian.

When the very thing you are speaking about was about uniting people of libertarians, traditionalists and anti-communists philosophies together.

At any rate, you're still wrong. It's roots go back much further philosophically. As in back to when the country was founded.

It is. Its been your whole argument about Trump.

quote:

Income tax didn't exist until 1913. And even then it didn't apply to wages, only gains from investments. "Income" had a different meaning when those laws were passed.

Lol. Dude. You are all over the place. You stated the only tax should be tariffs. I pointed out it has never been that way and you run to a specific tax in time and ignore all the rest.

What you are selling is that due to taxes outside of tariffs, isnt conservative. Well , then we have never been conservative on this point.

quote:

doesn't change the fact Trump adding them is adding a tax on Americans.

So because its Trump, its different. You see, if that is any part of your argument about being or not being conservative, then we have never been conservative because we have always had them.

quote:

You are the one using their talking points.

quote:

has an actual platform. You mention Massie, who has nearly a 100% score on conservative issues.

Yet you can not seem to craft that argument.

quote:

Again... socialist talking points used. They literally want the USA out of the world. Why would that be? Its not hard to grasp that.

The question is why is a conservative using talking points that are meant to achieve a specific goal.
