That’s kind of backwards. That is the very argument for abortion.

And the other supports abortion. Seems like the abortion side of thing is far better for the country than letting all those lazy selfish immoral folks take over. Small price to pay.

Sounds like you are saying we should abort people on taxpayer assistance and people in jail and prison.

Republicans are generally against abortion as a form of birth control. It's a means of last resort, not a convenience

i hear this a lot...so help me understand when convenience switches to last resort...from the baby point of view please...

Yes, I know. What I would really like to see, is mandatory sterilization. Nip it in the bud.

Last resort is if the birth will kill the mother and you can only save one.

Read about the beginnings of the feminist movement (not suffrage) and its anti- philosophical, authoritarian underpinnings.

Given the Democrat Party became home for these people, for whom gov-funded abortion on demand is a sine qua non, their raison d'être, it isn't that difficult to grasp how it became the Party of Death.

If you play the sophistic game of calling a growing being with different genetic material from his or her mother, who'll--but for the scalpel and vacuum--one day (9 months or so, max) be a human being living outside the mother, just another of mom's body parts, then I guess you can skirt the Constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and tout some deformed version of "personal freedom."

I prefer to actually think. (Or just downvote--that's easier for the borg.)

Because you have to pretty much be retarded to think "I'm personally against abortion, I believe life begins at conception, so for me personally abortion is murder, but I'm not going to make everybody live by my code of morals" is a statement of strength rather than what it really is.

Seriously, that's Biden's position. Liberals are going to vote for a man that believes nearly a million babies are being murdered in America every year, and won't lift a finger, let alone his voice, to stop babies from being murdered.

It's pretty amazing when you think about it. How weak man do you have to be to stand by while, in your view/belief, hundreds of thousands of babies are being murdered.

because there is something about humans that make us naturally separate into two "teams". We will do it even if our own morals dont align. We will even learn to forget our own instincts if it favors the team we have chosen.

As has been stated by other posters. We typically do not want abortion used as a form of birth control. That is an evil practice. Taking the life of an innocent baby for no other reason than a mother not wanting it is an act of such colossal selfishness that I cannot rationalize it. There are other options available that should be pursued.

Aside from that, we simply value life more. Life is beautiful and human life should be cherished. Especially from a mother and father.

It is literally the most despicable, cowardly, mealy-mouthed, intellectually dishonest position one can take. Especially someone who calls himself a Christian (and especially as a Roman Catholic, whose anti-abortion doctrine, as codified in the Donum Vitae, is unambiguous and universal-- same goes for true Protestants , despite the mainline heresies and apostasies of today).

So this is kind of heartless but think of all the Democrat votes that don’t exist today because of abortion.

Hell if not for abortion the Republicans might not be able to win an election anywhere.

P.S. I’m totally against abortion except for rape trophies. No woman should have to raise a baby conceived by rape.

That would be perhaps relevant if that were the actual wording of the Commandment.

The Hebrew verb used in the Torah commandment is usually transliterated to the Roman alphabet as “ratsah.” The Hebrew word which translates best as simple "killing" is transliterated as “harag.”

A word-for-word translation for "ratsah" is impossible, because it was a concept for which there is no perfect analogue in modern English usage. It was a criminal act which is most-closely analogous to our definitions of "murder" meaning that the best translation is "Thou shalt not murder."

Or are you one of those scholars who insists that Moshe probably spoke English?

Again, abortion of unwanted pregnancies was common in the ancient world, and "ratsah" was a serious crime. AGAIN, God went into agonizing detail about unbelievable minutiae. If He felt strongly that the common practice of abortion constituted "ratsah," one would expect Him to have said so SOMEWHERE in the 600,000 words of the Old Testament.

You think God prohibited it because YOU do not like it. You are applying confirmation bias in translating from the Hebrew.

It has always been strange to me that republicans are for hunting and against killing babies and democrats are against killing everything but babies.

I wonder what the reactions would be if you opened up dog/cat abortion clinic for those pets that you didn’t get around to having fixed.

Democrats don't see any value in human life. That's why they support communism. The Chinese are a perfect example of this but it applies to Americans too.

Upvote this. Your body, your choice ends when you engage in a life creating activity. Otherwise, it’s like touching a hot stove and saying I choose not to be burned.
