The regressive leftist trash in the country is more worried about what the snobby limp wristed morons in Europe think of us. Rather than live out a productive life they act as if someone saying something mean is a personal affront. My five year old daughter has thicker skin.

We live in the most heavily incarcerated nation on earth, how is that not oppression? Our police rob from from us via CAF. Law enforcement that has an economic incentive for the police to lock up as many as hey can. Mass surveillance of American citizens by the NSA. The war on drugs to protect us from ourselves so that we don’t commit victimless crimes (but manages to keep the police state well funded).
The US is very much an oppressive state as well, we just don’t fight it like the HK protestors are doing.

Sorry I don’t think being the most incarnated nation on the planet is a good thing, nor do I want the police taking my stuff or spying on me 24/7...

I think it just means we're better at locking up our criminals here. I agree with you regarding civil asset forfeiture and the spying. I dont think just because we have higher incarceration rates than other countries that something is wrong. Maybe they need to get better at locking up their criminals instead of letting known terrorists out to go and knife people up.

I don’t think China, Iran, SA, Cuba, Venezuala, or NK struggle at not being very good at locking up criminals.
