I don't see that being a wise corporate move.

Of all the things to panic about this shite is the dumbest.

I can’t imagine caring as much about this as you fricking simps. If you can’t afford an iPhone then don’t buy one, there are other phone options and you will not die, I promise

Yup. Bought mine with cash in 2020 and it still works.
It’s an 11 but who gives AF? Otterbox for the win.

The answer is either "why do you NEED an iPhone" or "you should be happy to pay more if it's made in America." We like the government interfering in what we buy now. Moose out front should've told you

I wish they would build a good solid refriderator that lasted 40 years in America like they used too. It'd be worth the extra cost.

While that may be true iPhone is still 58 percent of the market and trump is crazy to think they can actually be manufactured here. America is lazy and entitled it can never work kids now days think they can just be an influencer and not work in 10 years we are going to be in trouble nobody wants to be electricians, plumbers, or any kind of laborer.

It can be done here but it will require a generational investment to methodically build up the labor force with the skills to do the work. The sad truth is the iPhone is built over there not just because it’s cheaper but additionally that they actually have a sufficient labor force to make hundred million iPhones every year. They aren’t doing anything we can’t do. They’re just actually training their labor force for modern manufacturing in technology.

Look up how an iPhone is made. It’s mostly robots and relatively skilled labor. The American equivalent of the people doing it in China would probably make more money than you do

China has tons of shite tier slave labor, but the iPhone process isn’t one of those

That’s because we’ve been paying, feeding, housing, and giving free healthcare to generations of able bodied people to sit around on their fat asses all day every day.

I know one of the problems TSMC has with their US plant roll out is they can’t find enough people with the appropriate knowledge to build aspects of their facilities. They exist but too scarce for a project that big.

Well, I’d say that is less of the problem. More so thay we tell kids to go to college and too many get degrees in things with low economic utility. We also have a very insufficient trade school setup and we do little in the K12 schools to suggest such a track as equal or superior in some cases to going into the collegiate system.
